Out of interest, how is the forum managed ie so participants get a chance to contribute.
What is the basic etiquette?
I have been involved in chairing simple telecons with 3+ users, and it is not long before keeping it under control is like herding cats.
Herding cats is what we do best, Cereberus! I guess you'd best describe the TF Chat meetings as free form. You wait for an opening and start talking. Of course, general politeness does come into play; you don't change the subject being discussed until it's finished, but other than that, go for it . . .
I know you have exactly the same wireless Logitech headset than I have. It is super, works prefectly. I have it connected to two devices, to PC using its own USB receiver and to Windows Phone using Bluetooth. When for instance chatting in Skype on PC and my phone rings, I just switch the button on right earpiece to switch headset from PC to phone.
Thank you - I now know what to expect, and how to behave and of course, everybody should put their mobiles off or on silent ring eh?
I am quite looking forward to listening to it just because you get stereotypical views of people e.g. knowing you are a Southern Belle, I am imagining that you have a wonderful voice like Scarlett O'Hara with a Texan drawl slant perhaps. Me, I just have a boring non-descript UK South of England neutral accent.
It usually goes like this, just to name a few regulars: @Dude plays with webcam filters showing him as a dog or with a funny hat, @essenbe snores and needs to waken up every now and then, @Wynona fills IM with "Can you hear me, my headset is not working?", @simrick laughs aloud, @Edwin and @Cliff S share their screens and talk about customizing desktop and stuff, @DavidY, polite as he is waits in vain his turn to speak while I drink too much whisky.
Oh, yeah, and as Kari said, we have the IM part open too, so that side questions and other things can be put there, such as links.
Southern Belle, my eye! No Scarlett O'Hara voice at all; just a Texas accent that will make you laugh.
My land line can't be silenced, and my cell phone rarely rings; but if one or the other rings, I just mute my mic and answer. That's something I need to do because of ongoing "stuff".
