    This is killing me...

Ten days to go and I still don't know what's going to be the build number! How can I continue living with this? What if it is not this 14393 I am using now? How am I supposed to use my Windows if I don't know what the build number of Anniversary Update will be?

My whole existence, continued use of Windows depends of this. Why are they not telling the build of Anniversary Update? How can I continue living not knowing it now? So many things depend on me getting to know what will the build be! Can't they understand? I can't eat, sleep, think, can't customize Windows, can't meet friends and relatives. I feel like if MS is wanting to make me crazy by withholding the Anniversary Update build number, on purpose, completely understanding how difficult my life will be not knowing it!

    Windows sux! Long Live MacOS!

My way to comment this conversation. Page after page about if 14393 is the Anniversary Update, if not then which build? As it had any effect in our use of Windows, daily life, anything.

I've had more laughs reading this thread the past weeks than ever before reading any Jokes, Funny pics or such threads here at TF or on our sister sites Seven Forums and Eight Forums during my 7+ years belonging to these forums.

Lately I have been literally (yes, I know definition of literally!) wetting my pants while laughing aloud reading this thread :)

I feel the same way - it gets pretty silly sometimes! (Though I have not yet wet my pants.)

    Exactly.

Let's say Dona gets drunk this weekend and somehow manages to convince her bosses that Anniversary Update will be given build number 227345.62123.

How would that change our lives? How would it change the way we use Windows 10? In fact, the best question is how would it change anything?

Why is it so important to know today on July 23rd what build we will be using on August 2nd? How does it affect our lives? How does it affect our use of Windows?

According to Paul Thurrot, we already have it, sort of. I.e., the release build is in fact going to be 14393.x, with any updates between now and Aug 2 coming the way 14393.3 came - as cumulative updates through WU, not as full, new builds.

Microsoft Ships First Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 - Thurrott.com
This article is based on the same circumstantial evidence a five year old could work out. I agree with Alphanumeric - we will know in Aug 2nd.

    Um....

    By the way.....

There is NO such thing as RTM anymore!

Windows 10 Build 10240 is the RTM version, but Microsoft wishes youd stop calling it that | ExtremeTech

No RTM for Windows 10, Microsoft Says - Thurrott.com

(in German so use a translator): Windows 10: im klassischen Sinne gibt es nicht mehr - WinFuture.de

So there will be absolutely no Redstone RTM build number what-so-ever.

Makes sense. OEMs can install 14393 on new systems and the most up to date cumulative update will install when the systems are booted up.
