Simrick and I have just tried out Quick Assist. It's OK, but it's no TeamViewer!
We were able to get around by using Skype for Voice and one good thing is that Ink works. No chat, though.
So, if there were Voice and Chat available, it would be at least as good as TeamViewer. When Inking is on, nothing else will work.
All in all, though, a rather successful test.
Is anyone having an incompatibility with Skype Preview and Skype for Desktop when joining a group call?
Or putting it another way, does anyone have a problem joining a regular Skype (from skype.com) group call from Skype Preview (comes with Windows10)?
Having been using Skype at all now for some time actually since a former contact had a regular paid for service going and has been out of the loop now for about 4yrs. or so. As for the Quick Assist mentioned on the 383 thread I just found it on the 361 still on one of the 10 Pro VMs that needed to see the 361 go before the expiration date arrives! I got busy firing up the W7 upgraded to W10 VM as well as the 10 Home VM now gone however as that belongs to this other desktop being worked on this weekend.
This is why examing the changes from TH2 to present will be what reveals for the most part will to expect in the 1st anniversary update in now only about two weeks time. Meanwhile the second remote desktop here is still finishing up the 385 from 383 builds since these latest builds have been speeded up tremendously before the RS1 update arrives.
Did you try uninstalling the graphic in control panel/programs/uninstall? This is usually because some of the program failed to install properly and it might by uninstalling get installed correctly. Just a suggestion. Worked for me in a previous build with some program that kept installing over and over.
Sounds like repetitive failed attempts to install and where going to the manufacturer's support site for download an update directly will go further in preventing that from continuing on. The WU will instantly find drivers and in most cases see them go on without problems. But you won't always get the software app portion that goes with any driver set and why depending on the WU entirely isn't the best move! Be prepared to check the support sites on things.
