No, if nothing, it got faster !!! 13 seconds now and it's not a particularly fast SSD. Makes me wander if you have right AHCI driver.
Boot on main partition is 7secs from windows logo with insider at least double that...would have thought it'd be faster not slower!!

Well, after downloading, 'preparing for installation', and rebooting, I got a message that the update failed. It immediately started downloading it from the beginning all over again! I'm going to let it try again. I had made the iso already, so if this attempt fails, I'll try it 'manually'. Download is coming in real s l o w.

Installed without a problem but my Avast firewall driver prevented it from booting and had to clean install (minus Avast firewall).

Thanks Wynona. I finally got it to close by closing the home tab. Not sure exactly what I did. I remembered I had not rebooted the machine after the full install. I rebooted and it seems OK for now. I am on my laptop that is much like yours - old, slow and barely making it. I noticed even IE is sluggish and freezes at times after the reboot. I have to try these out on my desktop which is much faster and has SSD drive.
Actually, the laptop isn't old . . . it's just slow. I think it was manufactured in 2014, so that's not really old.

[quote]For example, the desktop watermark is now gone. This is because we’re beginning to check in final code in preparation for releasing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to customers on August 2nd. But we’re not finished yet and will have more builds to release to Windows Insiders between now and then. Remember you guys play a big role in helping us decide which are the final *final* bits that we ship globally.

Makes perfect sense to me with that explanation.

Had two browsers open, Edge and IE, had a total lockout, only a hard shutdown ie:- cutting off the power supply solved it.
Hopefully this was a one off....have notified insider hub.

Did the upgrade install from 14379 perfectly, first time, secure boot on, and no problems! And it came through the WU upgrade flight install, as well! Looks like things are shaping up for the main release...

Still having problems with the AMD SHA-256 Crimson driver certificates, however. Hope that gets ironed out before the release..! The problems manifested a few builds back when AMD jumped to SHA-256 for the first time--there are workarounds--but this needs to be fixed. For those affected, AMD says it is working with Microsoft to resolve the problem.

Well, after a long re-download of the whole thing, the second update process went smoothly. Seems fine - solid and smooth and snappy. But it's been fine for a couple of builds now already. Seems to me that the Anniversary Update is going to be a good one...
