I think, on the 10061 Lock Screen, you can sort of choose to keep getting new 'Windows Spotlight' pictures. The prompt stays up for a limited time or until you make a choice.

    .
I noticed that too. Kind of cool.

It's rumored that they'll use Build 10074 at the Build Conference next week.

BTW, if you want to get a 'screenshot' of your current lock screen for any reason:
Open a 'Run' box, type shell:appsfolder and Enter, look for 'Windows Default Lock Screen' and run it full screen then press Windows key and Prt Scn.

    hi Badrobot,

that works, but the "search the web" hides the icons, the first 6 icons are been put underneath the web search.

I will stay with the original settings right now.

    Again thanks

Positive results from some testing! I still need to go back to 10049 on a desktop due BSOD every time I connect to it using RDC, and that Premiere Pro won't run on it, but the same issues on a laptop with switchable graphics were solved simply by setting the laptop to use only the onboard Intel HD Graphics 3000 chip and disabling the Radeon GPU.

Seems that all my issues, BSOD when remoting, Start Menu and Search not working and Premiere Pro crashing were caused by the "switchable graphics" feature and Radeon GPU drivers, the same if using the latest from AMD, a bit older from the HP support site for this laptop model, or any older drivers. As soon as the Radeon GPU was totally disabled and switchable graphics turned off, the laptop works perfectly with 10061. Not crashing when remoted, Start Menu and Search working, and Premiere Pro not crashing.

I just have to accept that my desktop is not ready for 10061 being happy that the laptop is :).

My version went straight to 10061 from 10041, I was quite surprised about that thinking I'd get one of the earlier ones. I was offered the new build the day it was announced.

I know they weren't pushing the 10049 version through the updates because of it's problems, I'd had more than my fair share of trying to get it so gave up trying.

I've not really done much with it yet and not installed much yet, although I have installed the Windows Live Mail program as I'm used to that and like the way it works with all my email addys and RSS Feeds.

Wasn't very happy with using it today though as I had a lot of freezing. Turned it off and back in the host now, 8.1, for the rest of the day can't be bothered with messing about today.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way it happens with most of Microsoft's betas, Joan. I'm on one beta on which I'm using the script that came out months ago, and every time I do a reinstall, I get the latest build, i.e. script originally gave me build 10 and now it gives me build 100. :)

I've got some issues and, after reading 20-some pages of this thread, I am convinced that you guys can help me.

I have a Toshiba A215-S6804 laptop AMD Turion 64x2 TL-60 2.0GHz with 2GIG RAM. I put a new HDD in it and installed from ISO v9926-32bit. I had issues with sound not working and constant BSODs of DPC Watchdog Violations. Would not install printer, more BSODs.

I then downloaded v10041-32bit and did a clean install. Got sound working with Realtek HD Audi driver. Installed some WUs and the following programs:
Firefox+flash+lastpass+adblock plus (buggy display but works)
    Java 8u45
Teamviewer 9 (works; set up for startup with windows)
    Ccleaner
    Skype for desktop
    Printer (TCP/IP network)

I can not uninstall Skype App (window doesn't display all of the app - some goes off the side and I can't get to it)
see this post How do I delete Metro Apps?
I can not get the store to work
I had to do some code in powershell to get mail, calendar & people to work.

I now have v10061 in WU. Tried to install last night, and during installation I got a System_Thread_Exception_not_Handled
    Then, a "couldn't update 0xc1900101 - 0x4000d

This morning I went back to WU and tried again, and got this: fbl_impressive error 0x8020068

There are no bangs in Device Manager.
Cortana doesn't work (did for a while) so I have to jump through hoops to find anything on the computer.

    Suggestions please?

How old is your laptop, Simrick? Also, I'm thinking it's a little light on the RAM side, but this is probably not the problem.

Have you run Windows 8/81 on this machine? If so, then you shouldn't have trouble running Windows 10.

This in information the people who can help you will need to know.

    Last, you may want to consider a clean install of Build 10061;

A clean install of Windows 10 Build 10061 will cure most of your ills. I have a clean install and don't have near the problems I had with the update.

If you need instructions on how to create an ISO from the ESD file, go here: ESD to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 ESD File

Also, once you create the ISO, you can create a bootable Flash Drive here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2376-usb-flash-drive-crea…

Clean install (from the ISO) Windows instructions can be found here: ESD to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 ESD File

That is a pretty old laptop/processor. Try the clean install and see what happens. But it may just be too out of date. (circa 2006 or 7 I believe) You could try experimenting with newer drivers.
