My thoughts about Win 10 for phones after trying it for the first time the other night.

It's such a big relief to be back with Denim. After syncing my settings with 10052, there were several icons missing. Everything on my start screen are important to me. I lost Office. I know MS is trying to develop something better to replace Office for WP 8, but why take it away? Why not leave it there while the replacement is still in progress? I had problems with bluetooth my car can't find it. I can't set up remote camera for monitoring. The app I am using isn't supported. And a few more other stuffs. I am thinking I may skip Win 10 on my 1520 until I get a new phone. :)

It's not that 10052 (or Win 10 for Phones) is bad. It felt like I was going back to transition stage from Android to WP. I am so happy with my current WP setup on my Lumia 1520 right now and the way it's attached to my Network --- inside and outside my home.
I am glad that the online backup worked so well that rolling back to Denim is a breeze. All apps on the start screen are back to the original setup including the wallpaper. Whew!

I turned on Device Encryption to test using password protect on my phone, and now it will not turn off even when turned off.

I can't. I'm stuck having to enter the password every time I unlock the phone.

I suppose I could reset the phone to undo it, but I don't want to have to go through all that just for this. I'll wait to do a reset when I really mess it up good.

Does this mean that device encryption cannot be disabled even after reset?

A reset should be able to since all data would be lost doing so unless you have a backup to restore after the reset. It should be the same as formatting any encrypted drive in Windows.

To me, it currently seems no different than turning on the lock screen password in Windows Phone 8.1 like below. It's just that it seems incomplete in Windows 10 for phones to be able to turn off and enter the password to verify.

Hopefully it'll work better in the next build of Windows 10 for phones.

My Lumias 635/930 are on it....

I liked the new build, but there are still some translation errors in case of Portuguese-BR...
