I would advise anyone who is a serious windows user to sign up for the insider program, If you have a spare system and time sign up for the Fast or Slow ring and help shape the next update. If not sign up for the release preview - getting an update a few days earlier than the others makes things a lot calmer

After a few minutes working with the new OS this morning I received a blue side panel pop-in note that mentioned Skype was available to install. Moments later I got 2 more pop-in notes offering porn sites! Well, that's certainly new!
Any way to block those?
Could be unrelated to the update or even to each other - Time for a full anti-malware scan and check browser security
Well I used the MCT tool to download a ISO directly from MSFT. Mounted it to a virtual CDROM drive and ran the setup. After Win 10 gets installed, check for updates to bring it to 14393.10. Did the same on two other laptops.

I'm the same. Not a fan of all the cloud stuff. I keep my data locally stored on HD/SSD and backed up in triplicate across three different NAS drives. For external / remote access to my local files I have FTP enabled on one of the NAS drives as well as the handy WD app so my iOS devices can get stuff if needed.
The one thing that makes me most nervy about cloud data is if the provider goes offline/server problems. Unfortunately my iPhone is so cloud reliant it would literally become a paperweight if Apple dropped the ball. I'm still unsure what would happen if MS servers were down when I try to login to my Windows desktop what with having to login via the MS account. I don't want to unplug the internet to test it out in case it has a bad side effect but surely it does some sort of handshake/call to MS when logging in.
Disconnect from the net and try logging in to desktop, may be interesting, and best checked when you want to than when you need
Cloud is increasingly becoming MS's most important service, I doubt they would drop the ball on that one.
