Okay. I thought I was updating as an insider all along but apparently not.

I'm using the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant (Windows10Upgrade28084.exe) to upgrade. Will this be 1607 (OS Build 14393.0)? My internet is slow & my download is showing 65%, so another hour or so before it's finished.

Also, will there be an ISO file that I can use for my laptop PC as well?
As our internet is slow, it took 3.5 hours to download. Install setup took maybe an hour & final install another 30 minutes.
So far so good. Other than my personal icons missing & Classic Shell removed because it isn't compatible with this version of Windows 10, all went smoothly. :)

I found a relevant thread at Classic Shell View topic - W10 anniversary update, installed CS4.3 , had to repair OS
The latest version is 4.3.0 at Classic Shell: Downloads

All went well on 2 PC's - However I do have a message in red on the 'Update Status' that says my Insider preview build settings need attention' which is fine but I'm not an insider, & never have been. And I had no such messages until I ran the Anniversary Update. Will my PC explode before me now?

No, I think it will wait for you to explode first

Seriously just watch out for any other glitches - they happen - even on non windows software :)

Just the standard greeting to link a MS account & be the first to see future upgrades & builds etc., but it does take a while for that to come up unlike all the other sections that are instant. As it is it's doing no harm but I'll see what the future holds?

Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.10 has issues running scheduled backups with Macrium Reflect 6. This is due to the legacy task scheduler API used by the program. The Macrium folks are looking into it.
Seems like I recall some subscribers to forum having schedule problems with macrium several builds back. But it was isolated and others reported no problems

It does take a while for all of us I think.
Were you a member of the Insider Preview prior to AU release ?

Well...!! I did sign up a while back but never activated it on this PC as it's quite critical & if it stops my world ends as quickly (self inflicted then)
