Just came back from a friend whose computer got stuck in the loop. She has an HP laptop made last year that came with W10 1240. Last time it updated to 10568 without problem but this time rolled back to it. Found out that Avast was stopping it. I'll take it and update it next week.

    OK try Autoruns from Microsoft

It is a little daunting at first as it by default shows every command related to startup Apps, addons and the like

select the Login Tab and it will normally show everything that starts when you login to windows

If you see something suspicious ( an additional link to OneDrive in your case), you can simply uncheck the tick on the left of the entry and close autoruns then reboot and the extra shroud not show

if it does then you may need to re-run Autoruns and uncheck other entries until you get the correct result for you - once you are happy with the way your system is running, give it a day or so, and you can then go back into autoruns and right click on your disabled item(s) and choose delete although this is not essential
Quick addition to your Autoruns suggestion.... create a shortcut to the .exe and set the properties of the shortcut to run as Administrator. It will bark at you if not run elevated.

Did you upgrade to Windows 10 in the last month? If so you may have to wait until 30 days after the upgrade.

Thanks, nothing to do with one drive showing up.

    Hi
I downloaded the Anniversary Edition (I hope) with the media creation tool last night from the microsoft website in preparation for a clean install. I checked updates tonight with windows 10 and it is still not seeing the update so my windows 10 version is still 14366, I am anxious to update to the Anniversary Edition, but am not ready to do the clean install yet. Can I use the MCT (bootable flash drive) to install the anniversary update? How do I do it, if I can?
