Should encourage people to start new thread or use existing thread if new problems are discovered. I can't even start making sense of problems with such general thread.

Sounds a good idea to get problems into separate threads

I added my issue to a new thread, but asked in here also as many people have been reading this one

Am I correct in thinking that if you want an UEFI install you need to install to an unallocated partition?
This PC doesn't have a UEFI BIOS. Legacy is my only option on this device. My glitch happened while doing the upgrade via Windows update. On a clean install (legacy or UEFI) I delete all partitions except my Data partition and install to unallocated space. It's not mandatory but its how I do it. That way Windows can create all the custom system partitions the way it wants too with no restrictions.

EDIT: Posted this before getting to the end of the thread and I didn't see the "start new thread" message when I posted.

You can use the MCT, get the ISO and upgrade with that.

In update section click 'Learn more'. This will get the update for you no problem.

+1,, great idea. This one is already a bit to messy to follow and issue/fixes. Please do close it.

Agree fully good idea to set up a new thread for those having any kind of problem with the latest upgrade

My experience with this update was very pleasant and everything works good. I did a complete fresh install from a downloaded ISO image onto a reformatted SSD and I had no complications except self-induced. I was unable to make a USB stick using any of the tools that I had so I just made a DVD instead, other than that it went smooth and was quick and easy.

What I was thinking of is, if a solution is found to an issue, that someone, ( preferably, someone who has experience/fix), should post a quick "Mini How To" for the actual issue, in the relevant forum, so that it shows a title in google/Bing and is more visible for new members or guests browsing the forum itself :)
