Upgrade went smooth on my domain-connected computer through regular Windows update. Had to re-enter some website passwords, But everything else the same as before. Got a particular extension installed, and now am moved completely away from Internet Explorer onto Edge.

It seems that MS has changed the direct ISO download page (the "TechBench" one is no longer active as such); here you can now get the 1607 Build 14393.0 ISOs (including an install.wim)

You're welcome ! No doubt that this info will be of interest for many users here ...
And may be Brink could update the tutorial (How to Download a Windows 10 ISO File) with this new link. Ooops, already done ...

Upgrade went fine, although I had to repopulate a few of my Start Menu items that I had set up before. I also noticed that I had nearly 360MB dedicated to a certain Retail Demo Offline Content when I decided to do a disk clean-up (I have an image backup, so got rid of the previous version files to clear space). I didn't have that after updating to Windows 10 from 8.1, so this had been introduced via the Anniversary Update. Seems odd that an update should contain that rather than a fresh install. Still, got rid of that waste. But, other than those niggles, all seems fine so far.

For some reason on my laptop the update never appeared..on my desktop it appeared immediately but on my laptop til now it says no new updates..so I went online and found that if I click on learn more that I will be directed to microsofts web site and I can download the update so I did..downloaded "Windows 10 Update Assistant" and right now its on Updating Windows 10..2 percent complete..I assume Im doing everything correctly

Edit: Its installing the update now..just weird how my laptop never showed the update being available oh well as long as I am installing it thats what counts

Just completed my upgrade/update! :) Now showing version 1607 (14393.10)
Checking it out now and I'm impressed with it so far. Glad to have the calculator back working again.
Everyone have a good night while I check out the upgrade some more before I turn off for the night.

Hmm... I have noticed another thing that's a bit annoying: Fast Startup was re-enabled again. I dual boot with Linux, so having Fast Startup disabled is for the best if you ever want to safely navigate and write to the Windows OS drive from a Linux system. When I had Windows 8.1, I disabled it. I then found that when I first upgraded to Windows 10, Fast Startup was re-enabled, so I disabled it again. Now I find that the Anniversary Update has yet again re-enabled Fast Startup, meaning that, yet again, I have to disable it.

Microsoft, will you please leave this setting alone if I decide to disable it, particularly due to having a dual boot system. I know what I'm doing, I know what I'm losing out on, and it's annoying to find such a setting put back to the way YOU want it instead of the way that I want it.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. *grumble ... grumble*

Installing the anniversary update and it came to a screen asking me what I wanted to keep. All programs and files, files only or nothing. Nothing was selected and the dialog said it was my only choice as I had Windows installed in a non-standard directory. Specifically, it says: "Your files, apps, and settings can't be kept because your current version of Windows might be installed in an unsupported directory or you're trying to install an older version of Windows."

I did a clean install in W10 Pro and have moved the Users Folder to my D: per the tutorial here and also moved the Program Files to my D: drive. I've only had this installation for about 2 weeks.

My only choice is to cancel this update. Any suggestions?

Have you tried doing it through regular Windows Update? Microsoft has said some devices (among other factors) could take up to two weeks to get the update; so if you don't have it yet, you may just have to keep checking. Unless of course you find another method that works for you.
