Can someone tell me. If I use MCT to download an iso and use the iso to upgrade with, will I still
have a choice to keep my programs and settings or do a clean install? I want to upgrade several computers and keep them as they are. Thanks, undine.
Undine, I believe the answer is Yes you will have the choice. It is discussed a number of times in these posts.

Indeed and the easiest way to do so is to just mount the iso downloaded and run setup from there.

Yes. Just run 'setup.exe' on the iso, and you'll be able to make the choice. You don't even have to burn a DVD or USB stick - just mount the iso and run it from there.

Painless update on my AMD FX system and my older AMD A6 system (given to Mom in same residence) no issues to report, Dark Theme very nice, not sure how though to get it to cover entire Edge browser, but works on the settings page for Edge and the Titlebar, overall extremely happy with way update went, quick, painless, no issues to report at all here

Yepp. Nothing works. It always says "there was an error and the extension needs to be re-installed", which doesn't work of course. I found at least 20 bugs in just 20 minutes. Unbelievable. Welcome in the Windows as a service, aka as a never ending beta.
A guy over at the DP Review PC forum also has extension issues as well and linked to others here: Edge Extension won't install - Build 14393.5 (Microsoft's site).

    Hi,

Thanks a million Kari. I hardly ever use the MCT tool preferring the Techbench ISOs instead.

For what I usually use it for it works perfect.

    Cheers,
If you want to convert ESD to WIM downloaded from MCT. Here's how:

Windows updated fine here, but I noticed Windows Defender is now running while I also have Avast installed? Normally when another Virus software was installed Defender would auto disable. Have Microsoft changed how this works now?
