You did nothing wrong. Did you read Kari's post
Windows 10 Anniversary Update Available August 2 - Page 106 - Windows 10 Forums
Another weirdness: after update hitman 32 says roottools.dll (skype app) is suspicious because digital signiture is not valid.
Successfully installed with MCT. One problem - Lock Screen is back, cannot be disabled with regedit key NoLockScreen.
I have tried four times now to update and it won't work. When it installs the update I just get a bsod screen witch says "failed to install update" or something like that with a error code after(between 50-70%). After all that nonsense the pc resets to previous version of windows 10. Error code: system thread exception not handled.
If anyone of you use Miranda NG: ATTENTION! It destroyed my Windows 10 on my laptop! No right clicks were working/showing anymore, system became not responsible anymore, all windows not refreshing anymore. Just figured out it started happen the moment Miranda NG started via auto start, removed it from auto start, now it's working again... how can such a program with no admin rights cause something like this? I love this update so far unbelievable.
Try the usual fix.
Disconnect everything except mouse, keyboard, ethernet and display.
Disable or uninstall any anti-virus software.
Make sure you have enough free space on the drive.
If that doesn't help then use the MCT to download and create a ISO file. Mount to file (right click on it and select Mount) then run setup.exe from then mounted ISO.
