I would not expect anything to happen before the release time of 10AM PST and Microsoft has already stated that this will be released over a period of time to prevent bandwidth issues and not a worldwide synchronised release The standard monthly updates do not reach me here in the UK until at least 24 hours after the actual release time in Redmond, this is many times larger file than a standard update so it may be several days before it's available everywhere

    Great info, thanks.

The webpage to download MCT just died, maybe they are upgrading it to AU or it crumbled upon pressure.
More likely later - still working here.

I always wonder why they dont just stagger the release based upon location

Asia/Australia area first at 9 am local to the biggest market in that area
Then just slowly move westwards releasing at 9am in other areas

only negative would be Pacific time area would be last, but they would still be getting it at 9am or so as now anyway

Insider, Doogie? I am, did a clean install of 14393 and immediate update to 14393.5. No extra folders here.
Sorry Wynona I only just noticed your post, it was bed time in the UK.

Because that would be smart, I have never seen MS to do anything smart.

They probably want to test their servers, if they can manage to handle all the demand to accustom it for WinUpdates.

Does anyone know if the MCT has been updated to pull ISO images of the Anniversary Update yet? I can access the MCT download page, and it even identifies that I'm running "Windows 10" and provides an "Update Now" button to get me to the "latest edition." However, I have limited bandwidth allocation and don't want to waste 3-4GB on an outdated ISO version. If anyone has used MCT today (~1PM on August 2nd for me in the GMT+4 time zone) and can comment on this I'd be most appreciative.

Note: I'm currently running the most recent RTM build 1511(10586.494) and NOT Insider Preview.

    Thanks!

They do use a staggered release and said the this upgrade will use this, they start in Redmond with the official release at 10AM PST and then logic would dictate that they sequentially release towards the east by time zone (with odd retrograde steps to cover Hawaii and Alaska Etc) - so that the US market is first followed by Europe, Asia with Australia & New Zealand last

The file mediacreationtool.exe is linked to a specific iso. You can tell which by hovering cursor over it in file explorer and you get a popup message.

I need 10 pro n for one pc. I shall download mct periodically, hover cursor, and when build number in info popup changes go for it.
It says 10586, but I am still downloading new iso every hour just to make sure, nothing better to do anyway.

Bah! I'll just wait until I hear confirmation that it has started pulling the Anniversary ISO.

    Thanks!

Thanks, but isnt that totally backwards
going that way round, some place might not get it till Thursday or later (delayed release plus added time)

MS logic just seems really weird
