    Hi,

    Exactly.
To paraphrase our dear Wynona , we "essentially" are having our cake while the rest of the world is still waiting.
I expect the final release to include the cumulative upgrade. We'll see how they roll it out.

And saying that I just discovered all that by accident.....
When I get bored accidents happen.... LOL.

    Cheers,
I still think that it will have different build number !

I downloaded home for friend using MCT and the file I got was simply "windows.iso", nothing else. No version, no nothin'. Wander which build it was ?
If you hover the cursor over mediacreationtool.exe in file explorer, it tells you the build number you downloaded in the pop up screen

Installed Release Preview of 14393 last night, got .5 during the install, only update afterwards besides app updates was Defender definition update. (though before I rebooted to even get machine in Insider Preview, it somehow removed my WHQL AMD video drivers 16.7.3 and put in 16.6 from Windows Update.

Is it safe to reinstall those now?

or should I wait til after Tuesday and do a system reset or clean install, and then fix up machine items then

    Hi,

So I was right. $windows.~bt and $Windows.~WS folders are made by MCT. As soon as it started downloading, those folders were made.
Yes, it always does that to compile it into an iso afterwards. IOW what you download is not an ISO file, it's the MCT tool that
    creates it.

I hope you didn't re DLed the thing just to find that out ?

    Knowing MS, very likely indeed.

Yeah, downloading again. No loss though, unlimited internet. Besides, my ISO museum has only Pro editions.

One of the posts here referred to leaving hidden files in view so you could check contents to see if being seeded, but user preferred to keep hidden files hidden to minimise risk of accidental deletion.

I discovered today that if you unhide hidden files and pin the folder you want to look at to quick access, then when you hide hidden files again, the pinned folder still remains visible in quick access.

Do we know what time on the 2nd the ISO's will arrive or Media Creation Tool will be updated in UK time? I need to plan my week-ahead for the day off

I don't think we'll see it in Europe before Tuesday - Wednesday night.
