I had W10 Enterprise as a test and even as it worked 3 month it was still throwing out messages about activation. Forgot about it couple of month and when I started it again it barely booted and refused to do most of the things.
All they need to do is make the trial period very short. Even pirates will get tiered of reinstalling if its every 30 days or less. I think the original intent ( way back when) was to let you clean install if you had to in an emergency, and give you time to activate in case you were where there was no Internet. You had a usable PC. Now a days I don't see that as, as big an issue. It can still happen, just not as often.
If you join the Insider Program on Fast Ring, you effectively remain "activated" all the time as new upgrades come faster now than the expiry even in normal mid life Insider mode, since they took the decision some months back to make the Fast Ring faster. This is perfectly legal as well as far as I know.
I never said people wouldn't be able to download the RS1 in ISO form. But if you end up with the Insider flavor expect it to expire soon after if not planning to run the next build to follow!
If just now upgrading to 10 after today however note the previous version's product key will no longer be enough since the freebie will be over and a new DL or key will have to be bought. There won't be any more free rides there.
