MS has been doing things a bit differently with 10 in comparison to what has been the usual options for the previous versions. I can see the MCT still being available as it has been for TechNet and MSDN subscribers as always but no longer simply being readily available for downloading 10 without now after July 29 being a license bought with download type transaction with the end of the free upgrade offer. The free upgrade to 10 offer itself was a first for MS as far as the OS portion of their softwares go.
MCT has nothing to do with TechNet or MSDN. Two totally separate and different download sites and methods. One is public and the other is private subscription only. On MSDN and TechNet there is no MCT, you select an ISO and download it. Then burn a DVD or manually create your install media. I think the Windows 10 MCT will just be revised to be like the 8.1 MCT is now. The "Upgrade Now" part will be removed. You'll pick you language, bit version etc, and download an ISO or create a thumb drive. What's to be gained by removing it? Especially since they left the Windows 7 and 8 MCT up and running. No keys or any kind of verification is required to download Windows 8.1 via its MCT.

I'm putting my money on the fact that if one already has Windows 10 on their machine, the MCT will still be available for download simply because of ongoing Builds for Insiders or that someone will want to do a clean install.

Even if I were to have the Anniversary Edition on my computer, by virtue of having been an Insider, I can change my Update and Security Options to Insider.

Edit: I also know that if someone downloads the full version thinking to install it on their computer, that unless they have a valid product key, it won't go past the request for the key. Which brings another thought to mind. What if I could buy the product key from Newegg (or another retailer) and then be instructed to download the MCT?
I can't see them forcing key entry? For one thing, all you'd have to do is enter the generic key. Plus what about those with Digital Entitlements? If you install, with no key, and there is no Digital Entitlement that PC will just go into reduced functionality until its activated.

    Additional clarifications

Reduced functionality is hardly any reduction at all - just inability to personalise device. Everything else works fine including updates etc,

More importantly, an unactivated version will expire eventually (goes in into pc will boot every two hour cycle)

To see the expiry date run "slmgr /dlv" from an admin command prompt.

edit: hmm no longer gives expiry date. Just says notification status.

Yeah, its an ever increasing reduced functionality until the system is basically unusable. They give you a grace period to activate but it only lasts so long. In the old days we'd call it a 30 day trial.

That isn't true at all. It certainly will go past asking for a product key. It will install fully. It just won't activate.

OK . . . but they won't get it free.

That's the procedure for installing on a PC that already has a digital entitlement. And you can still do a skip key even if it doesn't have a Digital entitlement. Like you mentioned, it won't activate.

No, they won't get it for free. If you don't enter a product key, and there is no Digital Entitlement on record on the activation server for that device, it won't activate. It's what happens now if you install the wrong version. Home when it should have been Home SL for example. Or Pro when it should be Home, and vice versa.

As far as I can ascertain, it basically remains the full version minus personalisation up to near the expiry date, then goes into boot every two hours, and finally refuses to boot. It seems it is a lot longer than 30 days ie several months. I wonder if the old slmgr /rearm trick still works?
