Yes had Embedded 8.1 Key on this system, Original upgrade was from 8.1 Core to 10 Home, saved up money for a long time, and then finally upgraded to 10 Pro, then did clean install of 10, ended up with Home, and then did the key upgrade to Pro, then after found out to make the PID Text, so think set for next time. Maybe wil do another with Anniversary update, and get Pro fully, and hope Remote Desktop select users work, as it did on old system that got Pro Directly from 8.1 Pro last year.
Overall though very very happy with 10
Are insider upgrades essentially complete upgrades akin to the TH2 update and service packs of the past? I have no plans to be an insider and just want to be an average normal user well shielded from fighting bugs but I guess it sounds encouraging if such major upgrades have been going in ok for the majority!
Unfortunately MS has burned my fingers in the past so many times that I treat anything they do with great dread. Have a love/loathe relationship with Windows that's for sure!
I'll be doing at least one clean install with stock install media (no PID.txt), just to see if Windows 8 keys are still being auto detected. I'll likely put my PID.txt file back anyway. Even if you don't have an OEM key, it speeds things up during setup. No having to click skip or selecting Home or Pro.
