Also, what happens as regards drivers ?
This is a potentially problematic issue for me on one of my laptops because W10 attempts to install an unsuitable driver for the wireless card. The result is that in the final stages of a W10 install, the buggy driver suddenly starts causing massive system interrupts such that the final few percent of the install take several hours. It then takes an hour or more to manually open device manager and disable it, its that bad and slow running.

Will the anniversary upgrade leave existing user installed drivers alone ?
I got curious and set my Acer (running the public release of W10) to the fast ring to get the latest build...

Hopefully, driver issues will be solved before the Anniversary Edition is released. However, there will be some that will continue to have driver issues. There's just no way that Microsoft can cover every computer, especially those that are highly customized and built to "off the chart" specifications.

Dumb question . . . have you given feedback on the issue? Also, I think you can open a Microsoft ticket; as well, it's up to Dell or Acer to provide (to Microsoft) the correct drivers for your laptop.
It did all update OK to the latest build but it took around 9 hours because (you've guessed it) the buggy driver issue remains, and my good driver installs were overwritten. From the desktop appearing some 9 hours after starting, it took another hour to open device manager and disable the driver. As soon as that was done its off and flying again.

Also noticed that the graphics driver was returned to the MS default one. I'm pretty sure that this is something that has changed because I don't recall having to install an old driver when I initially installed TEN some months ago.

Driver Updates in Windows Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

It seems, that someone finally knocked some sense into devs.
I should have read Shawns TUT more closely as I think I might have been able to apply the reg Key to the original installation before I switched to the fast ring. Would have been interesting to see if the drivers were retained... and it would have saved hours if they were.

Custom DPI and font settings were not retained, probably because of the driver 'update'. What was surprising was that all my custom start layouts were retained and also that after a full disk clean I was well over 1Gb up on the deal despite always being meticulous about keeping the system clean.

What doesn't work is a custom start tile link to a single web-site that I use a lot. Looks like I will have to delete and recreate that one. It opens OK, but also opens all the other tabs I have set as home pages in the normal opening of 'Edge'. The custom tile (also pinned to the taskbar) should just open the one site.

Actually, I'm deeply impressed on the whole.

I can't say what might, could, maybe will happen down the road. But this does work for stopping drivers and other unwanted software changes. The days of 7-type or 8-type Windows Update control are history.
Well based on this they aren't completely history, not if you have Pro at least. Also in the home version you can stop the driver updates, and I am assuming this is for all types up updates/upgrades? I have an ASUS x99-deluxe on my tower. No slouch when it comes to hardware. I noticed on 7 Pro it was stable until I decided to run the "full upgrade" option, similar to Windows 10 default. Then I got blue screen issues I had never seen before. I put Windows 10 back on, same problems after upgrading to the newest production build. The dump file literally points to a new driver Microsoft loaded. (Note Asus has changed the x99-deluxe hardware after releasing it, so I can see why this happened.)

If clicking this driver check box via control panel helps me avoid upgrading the drivers on Windows 10 it will save me from downgrading, again. I honestly will never understand why they removed this feature from the upgrade options window. Everyone knows/knew that you should not always upgrade your drivers, unless they fix a problem, or you have a performance issue. When I worked at Microsoft we used to punt the whole thing to the OEMs in the 90's just because of these types of issues. They really increase support cost, and of course hurt the reputation of the OS. Hope they move that from control panel back to the upgrade options window at some point.

Anyone know if they'll implement a drop down of previous pages visited on the back button for Edge in this new update? Pretty much every other browser has this.

I hope it is the RTM version. I got tired of waiting for August 2nd and I updated my "working" computer yesterday and it went very smoothly and I am very happy with 14393.3. The only thing I did not like is that my favourite old MS games seems to be gone. Guess I will have to go to the store and pay Bill to get rid of the ads.
