Thanks Kari, that worked except I now have the icon on taskbar replaced with a persons head and shoulders followed by my
name, which seems to link to the file explorer quick access, and i can't remove that from taskbar either????

Okay. I thought I was updating as an insider all along but apparently not.
    Attachment 93930

I'm using the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant (Windows10Upgrade28084.exe) to upgrade. Will this be 1607 (OS Build 14393.0)? My internet is slow & my download is showing 65%, so another hour or so before it's finished.

Also, will there be an ISO file that I can use for my laptop PC as well?
That version of the upgrade assistant should bring you the Anniversary version.

    Cheers,

Microsoft has always stated that this would be a staged release, I and I think others assumed that this would be geographically/ time-zone based, but it appears that some other criteria is in play.

Maybe designed to allow people to get at least one copy quickly and additional copies later.

I have already read that Chinese language versions are not yet updating though English versions I'm China are, so there may be multiple criteria in play
I wonder if the update is looking at the date of manufacture? The only computer that saw the update was the one I purchased new back in December.

DONT DO IT !!!!!! The update is a piece of garbage !!!!! Updated two computers and am having major issues with both of them. Edge does not launch 50% of the time. IE is extremely slow. Norton Security quit working on one computer. Firefox refuses to connect to the Internet on both computers. These are just some of the issues.

Hate what they did to the START MENU. I just got use to the Windows 10 Version and they changed it without the option to switch back. At least I have not been able to find a way to revert back to the old one.
I did four computers. Five if you want to count my Insider build. Two were desktops and two were laptops and not a problem with any of them.

    Hi
I downloaded the Anniversary Edition (I hope) with the media creation tool last night from the microsoft website in preparation for a clean install. I checked updates tonight with windows 10 and it is still not seeing the update so my windows 10 version is still 14366, I am anxious to update to the Anniversary Edition, but am not ready to do the clean install yet. Can I use the MCT (bootable flash drive) to install the anniversary update? How do I do it, if I can?
Insert usb stick whilst running windows 10, and run setup.exe to upgrade. The upgrade method is exactly the same as the auto upgrade but actually more reliable.

    Same here.
I suspect people having trouble with this update were having trouble before it as well, perhaps without them being aware of it.
In severe cases were a person is not knowledgeable enough to fix these problem a clean install may yield far better results.

Yeah but they are all the same language and location. The desktop that did see the upgrade was the second computer that I tried. :) Being Home or Pro didn't have anything to do with it either.
