Clarification of my earlier post on connecting USB devices to a Dell Venue 8 Pro. I use the Dell Micro USB Dongle for Data and Charging (Model XGJT2) available thru Dell for $19.99. To that I attach a Sabrent 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub with Individual Power Switches and LEDs (Model HB-UMLS) available thru Amazon for $6.99. This allows me to power the tablet while attaching up to four USB devices. Very handy for a clean install since touch and Bluetooth are not available. USB boot stick on one port with USB mouse and keyboard on other ports.
Thankfully, I don't have your problem, but I thought I'd add a tidbit . . . I have the Logitech wave keyboard/mouse combo, and use one dongle for both of them.

    - love the way that Continuum handles the Groove Music Player..
    - it moves across from the 950XL display to the monitor without skipping a beat

    - very sleek.. :)

I like her sense of humor. Wonder if this means something is coming soon.

For just to download and install chipset drivers you can manage quite well with mouse alone using on-screen keyboard. Have done that often.

If touch isn't working then no on-screen anything is available. I think the mouse is all I would need though since that would allow me to load the Chipset driver which I have stored on the Micro SD card.

You are right Kari, sorry. I was thinking of the touch keyboard, not the OSK. That worked great having just the mouse connected. Thanks.

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro and rather fight with the Micro port just went with a Dell Bluetooth keyboard and Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, both work fine. The cover I got for it came from Dell and is magnetic, holds the keyboard quite securely. In getting extensions for the USB port one wants to go for OTG/On The Go devices.
