lol, ask my wife what the OS is on her laptop and she would likely respond FaceBook. I have her laptop set to auto log her in and her IE homepage set to her FaceBook page. That's pretty well all she ever used it for other than an occasional Google search. If FaceBook is down, or the Internet is down, to her, the laptop is broken. And handed to me to be fixed.

I agree. That was a really well summarised post. I get the same issues with my family and friends as the 'IT guy'! They think I'm Bill Gates or something when in truth I'm not that good but I'm just a bit more tech savvy and precious about my computers. If I get a problem I will google it to death. It irritates me that Windows 10 is doing this to people - my mother in law would quite happily of used Windows 7 til her laptop died a natural death. As long as she get on the Internet, use office documents, browse photos and calculator she is happy. But of course Windows 10 got itself on there. Given it is a bit unpredictable and I have spent more than one occasion using system restore to get back native app functionality after they stopped working for her, I wish she'd of stayed on Windows 7. It's a minor thing but I still have to waste some of my limited spare time going over and doing this. Windows 10 should of been so much more discreet. Personally I'm a geek but I don't really like it at all either, it's too unpredictable and buggy. I only roll with it because it came with my new machine and I know soon some software will probably be Windows 10 only
