Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14372 for PC and Mobile Insider

Celeron 1.7 GHz, single core, 2007, Compaq model handles the latest a tad slowly but great for its age. The APU dual core - I'll have to boot up again - as I've lost interest in it. I hate fans running full blast. Dual core at same speed as the other one. Note it's APU not CPU. Really lost faith in AMD. Had a previous desktop running a proper AMD CPU six core and that was a great machine. Then a thunderbolt put paid to it. That's the time I switched to laptops.
APU is CPU + GPU in same package. AMD APUs have an advantage in graphic department over comparable Intel processors but processor part is not as good.

This build has the same problem as the previous one. If "save power when my device knows I'm away" is enabled in power & sleep settings it won't wake from deep sleep and just hangs at the boot logo.
-
It's not the actual program it's just the on/off switch that's iffy don't you think? Apart from the humour if you read the whole thread you should have noticed.
You have not taken into account not everyone wishes to use system restore, preferring the safer option in making exterior backups.
Also with it switched on automatic backups take place, thereby creating problems for some with small storage capacity.

Did you make your ISO?
Repair install.
Or if you don't have that much software, use the new tool for a clean install.

Thanks, Count. I think I knew that the APU was specific to AMD. right now, my computer seems to be fast enough, even if the CPU part isn't as strong.

I've had my computer refuse to wake up twice since this build was installed. I didn't find "save power when my device knows I'm away", but I did find that Microsoft had changed my settings to allow the computer to hibernate! Grrrrrr
As a matter of course, I never allow my computers to hibernate, so this was a shock. Heretofore, I thought I had to activate hibernate. Guess that's one more thing I have to watch out for. Sigh . . .

Cliff, contrary to my usual clean installs, this time I'm trying to wait for release of the Anniversary Build before clean installing.
What new tool? What'd StarFerret miss? She's supposed to keep up with all the new stuff!
