I don't very well understand this : Release Preview Ring

Can I normally install it or I need have Insider builds turned on or ?
    Thanks :)
The Release Preview Ring is the lowest setting for Insiders.
There are three settings Fast Ring, Slow Ring and Release Preview Ring.

The Fast Ring has the most frequent updates some of which can contain quite a few bugs, the Slow Ring is updated far less frequently but will contain fewer bugs and the Preview Rings are released only when Microsoft feel the build is almost ready for public release.

I would just wait for it become available in the normal way via Windows update. Much simpler that way, I guess it'll be Tuesday. Remember it could still have issues - unlikely but it isn't a final release.

I've had it since tuesday Scottyboy and have had zero problems. System seems to bootup and shut down faster than before.

No issues at all here :)

Thanks for the re assurance. Admittedly i do get nervous anytime there is an update. I'm definetely not the sort of person suited for insider builds. Not necessarily aimed at MS but many 'updates' for all sorts of devices we have owned in the past have been more hassle than beneficial. Unfortunately Windows 10 has bitten me a few times with its unpredictability, although it is still immature OS. I'm sure in time it'll be great. I will hold on for now and wait on Windows update to offer it but it's good to know the vibe is positive.

Windows Anniversary update end of June will be interesting - am dreading that one !!!!

    Hi,

You mean that's for your regular 10586 build, right ?

I was a bit surprised seeing this thread as I have in on my build as well. Even on a Win to go stick which is much snappier than ever now.

If it's an ironed out version of the latest Insider build then there's nothing to be dreaded. It is very fast and solid as rock IME.

It's the November Update 10586 for those who chose to be an Insider on the Preview Ring. I have it running in a VM. It is not the one generally available to the public and not the true "Insider" release. It's a cumulative update to take the Preview Ring to 10586.338.

This is the build currently out to the public.

No.. I got this KP update from a link that Frank provided. I did a backup of my system and tried the instillation. It worked/works without any issues so far. My PC seems a bit faster.
