Google+ probably thinks that Spartan is a mobile browser. I tried clicking notifications on G+ and I got this compatibility message:

And when I click "Learn more", I get this page to download a supported mobile browser:

Thanks for this workaround Edwin. I have yet to try it. But I hope it's not something permanent that we need to do ourselves.

That was just a desperate measure, really! The bug doesn't happen for me.

No. It only happens each time you open up G+. It goes away after a while. It's minor but it shouldn't happen.
