I for one have hundreds of DVD's and a few Blu-rays. Most of them are old TV series.

I tried it...looks nicer then old version but still appeared to be buggy...It is actually still in beta which is why you probably have to get it from the link (it doesn't as yet show up in the microsoft store unless you go through that link)...Videos often played with a broken up picture and search is pretty bad too...

I'd say...still not ready for prime time....so far, nothing like the original (non store app) version...
I removed it for now...looks like it needs a long way to go yet...

I left it as default player although it's much poorer with options than desktop version but faster. Good enough to play MM files from double click, just to check them out etc. Still keeping desktop version though.

Yeah, it's got a long way to go before it's competitive!
    Featureless, unstable and really buggy!

What advantage does this have over the desktop version? Just see no reason to use this.

    At the moment, none whatsoever!
I don't even see a hint of a way to sync content on other devices!
    Very premature release, unfortunately!

I just tested the new VLC UVP app... is this a joke? It's even more buggy than the old one. Unbelievable.

Um, people do realize this app is technically still a beta, right? And that betas are usually buggy, and lack features? Don't get me wrong, I installed the UWP app, but I realize it's not finished yet.
