Two days ago my Surface 4 pro could not boot up, inserted Easus rescue and backup usb, no result.
Inserted W10 Media Creation ISO which informed me no drivers available, so impossible to go any further.
Have now no other option than to return to M$ to be wiped clean and a reinstallation of the software.
    Again ?
Isn't it the 2nd time ( at least ) that you returned your purchase ?
You sure give me confidence contemplating in buying a Surface.

MS Store should ban you from purchasing Surface on the ground of bad publicity.

If this tool is intended to use for the "free Upgrades", then the only added value I could see in a special tool would be to automatically retrieve the existing product key before doing the actual installation. Today, you have to use the "genuineticket" method to do a clean-install (on a PC not previously Upgraded) and still reuse the existing product key. IF this automated that function, that would be worth having for folks not willing or able to use this other approach.

I would trust a clean install from iso long before anything MS comes up with. Who knows what it will carry forward from old OS. Clean install probably quicker as well.

It's likely going to be the same process as the one that we're used to. Just more automated I guess.
