Thanks, but i already knew that, and i already had it converted to an ISO, i was just asking some guidance about sharing this kind of stuff (like files from MS which are not publicly available)

    Cheers!

    Devices on Network

    badrobot said:
Thanks. I have all my machines connected even this 10049 before I did a clean install. I know the basics. Just this particular bug is bugging me. :)
I didn't have to do anything with previous builds. I normally see the devices right away. Not necessarily have access but I can see everything under network.

    Here's the before:

    Attachment 15831

    and here's after...

    Attachment 15832
The after shot shows one device on the network..........
    You started with seven.
I'm guessing Win10TP has it's own network now??
    Must have same Workgroup
Must have shares on each device
Must populate each device Network folder
Must have a path to each device
All seven devices should show in the left pane............
click each one to be sure it's populated (with shares)
The path should be found automatically when everything else is correct................
hmmm, if this is a Homegroup, all bets are off. Don't use it! Don't know how!

It's in the same workgroup. And that is the problem, it can't see the other devices even on the same workgroup. I even changed the workgroup and then put it back hoping that it would re-scan my network but nothing changed. Even experimented and disabled IPv6. Nothing.

That's ok. I'll figure it out. This is what testing is about. :)
If nothing works, I'll go back to the upgraded image backup that I created before doing this clean install.

It should, but regardless, I should at least see all the devices in my network even without sharing. It will give you an "access denied" message if you click on any device that doesn't have share.

Well, that depends on whether those machines are CIFS 1.0/SMB1.0 or SMB 2.0 clients, and whether or not you have the SMB 1.0 support installed in the Add/Remove Windows Components.

It also depends on whether you have your Network and Sharing setup to allow open sharing.

It also depends on whether they are on the same subnet.

It also depends.. well, on too many factors to list here...

    Thanks for the input.

I didn't have to do those CIFS/SMB stuff manually. The previous builds didn't need any of those. I don't understand why I have to manually do those with 10049.

Nothing changed on the 6 other devices. They still see each other. They even see this 10049 PC but this PC can't see any of the 6. As I said, I can connect manually to the NAS which is one of the 6 devices ( the one with 192.168.2.102 IP address on the "after" photo) with full read/ write access. The only problem is they should be seen automatically as a device.

It's no big issue. I can manually connect to any device. Which means no SMB/CIFS issue. I'll charge it to 10049 bug. I just don't understand why they don't appear automatically. I'll rest this case. Thanks for all the help.

I'll do another clean installation. If it's still the same, I'll restore my 10049 image which doesn't have this issue.

    Cheers!

Well, I just restored back my upgraded 10049 and abandoned the clean install. Everything is fine again.
Whew! That was the biggest bug I caught, ever...
