Insyde H2O EFI BIOS on a netbook I used to have springs to mind.

Perhaps that is the source of the hydration?
Good try, but I use legacy BIOS, and it hydrates here, too. Must be something else.

When they say "Hydrate" they are making an allusion to the Hydra of Greek Mythology.

You cut off one head (uninstall one app) and next time you upgrade three more will grow back.

    I'll get my coat.

I saw you are working on some script to remove those heads, bet ancient Greeks didn't have those!

Anyone else using dual / multiple display system with taskbar only on one display, but not on primary display?

I have this annoying small issue: whenever setting up Windows, I disable "Show Taskbar on all displays:
I then unlock Taskbar and move it to secondary display and lock it there. Although not a gamer, I like to play SimCity and Cities: Skyline, which both allow full screen only on primary display. Keeping my Taskbar on secondary display I can use full screen in these games without my Taskbar being hidden under the game.

This works without an issue, a reboot or sign out / sign in always shows my desktop as I want to, taskbar on secondary display. This is also good for Edge which I use for YouTube and such; Edge opens on primary display as you know, full screen videos would again hide the Taskbar.

BUT: If I switch user, then come back to first user, the Taskbar is always returned to primary display. I have to again unlock it, move to secondary display and finally lock it there.

Screenshots to explain this a bit better. First, this is how I like it, primary 1920*1080 display on right, ready for full screen gaming and full screen videos, no Taskbar. Secondary 1600*900 display on left, with Taskbar:
The same after I switched to another user and returned to original user desktop. Taskbar has moved to primary display on right and I must unlock it, move to secondary display and lock again:
If instead of Switch User I simply sign out, sign in to another user account, then sign in again to this first account, this does not happen; when signing in, the Taskbar is always shown where it should be, on secondary display. This only happens when switching user without signing out first.

Is this just me or a common issue when Taskbar is only shown on secondary display?
I had to come up with a different solution when starting the desktop recordings where I ended needing a main bar on both and made the secondary look like a primary to a certain extent not having a bulk of things pinned.

I couldn't have that type of clutter could I? I have to work up an entirely new solution to make things work.

Despite having the 8Pack sidebar gadget with restart/shutdown, control center gadget as well as the others I still found I needed a solid taskbar to work with and ended up dumping the Smart taskbar option for UltraMON and going with 10 bar instead. I have windows only showing on the display they are on not on all displays to prevent unwanted items getting in the way. Plus if in a Steam title I can easily hit the secondary taskbar with a game paused.

Older titles however won't allow cursor off of game screen while you can still see those run in windowed modes. That's one annoyance only solved by remote access unfortunately without exiting what you are in.

I have had extremely good luck with all the updates, this last one, for some strange reason will not allow IHeart radio to work, just keeps loading and more importantly NO sound. The computer will play sounds from the control panel "sounds" ok. ??

Are you running onboard or have a separate expansion card in for sound? With a separate expansion you will need to go for the 8.1 update if an older model and allow the web updater to grab the latest.

For the Creative card here I run the last Support 1.2 download and allow that update to run the web updater tool to see the Support 1.5.1 go on for each new build. For onboard you may have to refresh the sound app for the board you have. Running the installation again and again gets the Entertainment console working again for the card for speaker settings, EAX effect, equalizer, mixer.

As Kari said, you no longer have the directory. My guess would be that you cleaned up and checked the box for deletion that removes the Windows.~bt folder--there are two boxes for major cleanup--one of them for Windows.old that on my system shows ~16GBs; and the other marked "Windows installation files" of ~1-2GBs I believe--if you check that box it will remove the .~bt folder (I've noticed.) Leave the box blank and the .~bt folder will stay put. If you run cleanup in the absence of those directories, neither will show up there, of course.
I believe you are right.....I have never needed to do a clean install, but being curious decided to investigate should I ever need to.
By doing the following seems to have negated the need.
Scannow and Dism checks before and after each update to ascertain no corrupt files.
After update do a Disc cleanup including Windows Old and installation files and all unnecessary junk.
Create a System Restore point, do a Scannow and if necessary a Dism and if corrupt files were repaired immediately create a new System Restore point. Also I believe it is in the interest of Microsoft that Insiders test the upgrade to eradicate any faults found during the process.
