I use a lot of large music sample libraries for sound design. I find 16 GB to be very nice. I never felt that I needed more than that.

Hi DooGie,

It's better to be a fool for 5 minutes of your life by asking a question than to be a fool for the rest of your life because you did not ask the question.
Hope yo do not mind

I have an HP ProBook 6460b that has 4gb of ram and am considering upgrading it to at least 8 or maybe more just because I can upgrade it to 16gb if I want to. wondering if I will notice any difference in the performance of the machine since it seems pretty lightning fast with 4gb of ram. got this machine to sell it to a friend of mine for a profit but it turns out he liked my HP/Compaq NC6400 that I had running windows 10 pro on better. this machine needs a battery and a screen bezel but other than that it is perfect running windows 10 pro. might leave it alone except for getting it a battery in case I want to sit outside at my starbucks with it, but I may leave it alone as far as the screen bezel since maybe with it missing parts it may be better to bring to starbucks where I wont have to worry about it walking away like I do with my MacBook. right now I am using my MacBook as my desktop until I get the ssd replacement hard drive for my mac mini. I really only need a windows laptop for my weather radar programs when I am out storm chasing they will only run on windows. I lost interest in windows when vista came out and primarly used mac since. however the short time I have used windows 10 it seems almost as stable as mac.
