Excuse me, just to clarify something:

Currently I am on Windows 10 Pro build 10586.218, using it as my primary operating system. I have not set it to get any kind (type) of Insider Preview builds. Neither have I ever used an MS account in this OS.

Will I receive these cumulative updates via Windows Update or not?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Sure, you should receive these updates.
But of course not those reserved for the Insider Preview Ring as Cluster Head mentions above.

IOW : If you're not on the Insider Preview you should still receive the update that brings the current version you're running to version 1511 OS Build 10586.240 .

    Just received this update.
I stopped Insider builds a few months ago but tonight got itchy fingers again, joined the insider preview builds and within 10 minutes received this latest CU.

    Good morning Brink
After downloading KB3157621 x64 the cab file how do you install it?
I see in another post several down from this one bestt has a cab zip file listed is that what you link the file to?
I cannot get the update to download and since the KB file is listed I thought I would try it.

    Hi,

Not Brink but Bestt's program works fine for me.

If you want to do it manually then these work too form an elevated prompt:

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath: C:\Your PathHere\filename.cab

Replace C:\ with the correct drive letter for the path to the .cab file.

Or, as suggested by Cluster head :

    From an elevated prompt run :start /w Pkgmgr /ip /m:C:\your dir\cabfilename.cab /quiet

Replace C:\ with whatever driveletter you're using, replace your dir with the source directory, replace cabfilename with cabfile's true name.

All of the above should work just don't use the "expand" command to extract the cab file, it's huge and there's no setup routine provided.

    Cheers,
