Given Edge has only been out for about a year it's rather good and it's making nice progress. Give it a few years and it's going to be more competitive with Chrome and FF.
There were years of promises from Microsoft about huge improvements in the quality of IE. Edge promises are being made by some of the same people.
when Edge supports LastPass, or, even remembers the logins/passwords YOU TELL it to, I will use it more often..but it still can't handle basic tasks like password memory, which makes it useless for me..
Hi,
is there any chance to roll back to 14316 without losing all data and settings?
I have the 14316 ISO, but when trying to downgrade, there is no option to keep the settings.
Ideas?
Similar to the above, when I decided to do a clean install of the previous preview that was on the fast Ring, I noticed that for some unknown reason the clean install was put to the Slow Ring.
After putting it back on the Fast Ring I received the latest build minutes later.
Cheers,
When you first see a fresh install of any build go on the Get insider builds option isn't even enabled. You have to see that taken care of first. Following the required restart you go back in and move the option to Fast. But for some reason the Slow got reset after a few shutdowns. The 332 is now running on that VM however as well as on the other Pro upgrade from 7 Ultimate and on the other 10 Home VM.
This time however it won't be the main build being the last but the second build which still hasn't seen any sign of this build as of yet while also being run 24/7! I don't even see the Insider builds option in the Advanced to check up on the Fast-Slow option.
Looks like I might be in for another Clean Install from BT folder I will need to see transferred over from the main in order to replace the 14328 there by starting up the 10 installer from within which allows for the clean install without need to unplug any drives at least when run from a second partition on a VM that is. Hopefully being from the main the upgrade option will work this time around however! Have to find out soon!
Found the bug on the second remote pc! I opened up the Windows Insider item on the bottom on the System home screen and found the Take control button and now that changed to Fix me indicating something got pooched during the 316 to 328 update. Also why I generally prefer clean installs when possible in order to see working results!
THAT DID THE TRICK!
Once you go into the Settings>System area when not seeing the new builds arrive look down under the For developers and keep a watch for the Windows Insider Program area. When a new one doesn't arrive you may have to pay a visit to that to solve the problem. The message in there pointed to "We thought you might want to take a break from receiving new builds" and you find a selector to delay 1 day already set without any 0 option 2 days, 3 days, etc. which also takes a load off of the MS servers as well?!

And what exactly doesn't work for you regarding passwords? I've just checked and log out, then log in with saved passwords works here. And manage saved passwords works for me too.

Edit: and it always asks if you want to save it.
It never saves any passwords to any site I visit, and log into at, and YES, I have the "ask to save passwords"button turned ON....VERY annoying..
