Just what we need. Another distraction for drivers. As one who got rear-ended because the driver behind me was texting I hate to see this.
Someone got their Windows 10 Mobile phone to work with their in-car display
If you own a car with an HDMI port in your display, you might be able to hook up a Windows 10 Mobile phone and have it work on that screen.
Windows Central reader Matthew Johnson alerted us to his experiment on Twitter with a Pioneer in-car display. As you can see from the image, connecting the phone to its HDMI-in port seems to work:

Large in dash, on screen touch screen, car info centers are already out there? Radio, navigation, fuel economy info? What does it matter if its running Windows 10 or not? It's up to the driver to keep his eyes on the road. In the example in the first post, the screen was already there. Somebody just connected there smart phone to it. I can link my phone to my cars system via blue-tooth and use it hands free. Nobody wants to be in an accident, been there done that. I'm not trying to dismiss your concerns, just saying that tech is already out there, and has been for a while in high end cars. Most of the navigation controls are duplicated on the steering wheel. Just like the cruse control buttons.
Things like gauges, radios and controls are distracting. The difference is that they don't require as much driver concentration as using devices such as phones or computer devices. I have no control of what accessories come in cars. If I did the only accessories that would be included would only be what is necessary to safely operate the vehicle. Do people really need to use their phone or computer devices while driving?
Just thought of another question. What do you think the percentage of user will be that will be doing such things as surfing the internet or reading their emails while driving?
