Inability to really configure the start menu on the new build is terrible and I was forced to go with Classic Shell as well.

I'm almost at that point, even Cortana does not have a good answer. If it does not change with the final release I hope Classic shell adds the 8.1 start screen

If I could resize this, and make it show as my wallpaper for the tile background I would be happy. Then to be able to customize the scrolling left part would really help. Then it would be more like 8.1

Or just modify the behavior, 8.1 will go to the top tile when hitting enter. W10 does not do that, but I wish it would.

    Start Menu Power Options

Another minor annoyance with the new Start Menu is the Power button.

In W7 I can just press:
    • The Windows Logo key
    • The Right Arrow Key
    • The Enter key

Whatever action I have set for the Power button will be executed (Restart, Shut down, Sleep, etc.).
I can also hit the Right Arrow key twice and use the "hot key" to choose the other Power actions.

I don't need to use the mouse or even have my monitor running to do this.

In W10 I have to view the Power options, so that I can choose the correct one (i.e. I can't figure out how to set a default action for it).

Even though I didn't like the Start Screen in the W8 series, MS may as well make "All Apps" appear in the giant right pane (W8.1- style) rather than the vertical scrolling left column horror that they have currently implemented.

I agree, I said customize the scrolling left side earlier, but I really meant to get rid of it.

I don't mind a couple clicks to get to the power button, I just want to SEE IT when I get there!

The left column should just show the same thing in the default view and the "All Apps" view.
