    Hi there

Now I see it --yes it's horrible -- I don't use the expanded menu (yet) as I'm on a non touch desktop -- hopefully when I try this on a touch device it will have been fixed.

    Cheers

    I don't have a touchscreen either.

I was just checking to see if MS had restored the variable sizing that the Start Menu had a couple of versions ago.

Yes, the transparency feature is horrible. It can look like a terrible mess!

I don't really see the point why MS is asking for feedbacks when all they do is keep introducing new UI changes rather than tweaking up what they've started based on feedbacks they receive.

Maybe they have had a lot of feedback about the UI

....transparency is returning to the Windows 10 user interface in full? You never know. Users have been asking for this in droves, and it already has more than 44,000 votes over at the UserVoice page for Windows 10, making it the second most requested feature.
Users might change their mind after actually using it!

It is reasonable to expect that when this feature does arrive on future builds, Microsoft will add in options for users to enable or disable transparency as they wish.
    Let's hope so!

That would be suggestions. Feedbacks are based on existing designs.

That is absolutely horrendous! Gimme a break! What else can I say that tells you how I feel?

Sheesh! IE has turned off my ability to post smileys again!

I'm more scared of what your desktop looks like
But yes opacity without a control on it besides active or disable is useless.

The start menu is rather poor. I just noticed the transparency thing after reading this thread, normally I have no reason to extend the start menu full screen. On the contrary, I was going to complain that unlike in the previous build I can't make it smaller. But now I see that I don't have the option to disable transparency. Is that because I did the update instead of clean install?
