Today we’re excited to announce a new plugin-free voice, video, and group video calling experience on Skype for Web, Outlook.com, Office Online, and OneDrive, powered by the ORTC API in Microsoft Edge. You can preview this experience by visiting Skype for Web in Microsoft Edge today on EdgeHTML version 13.10586 or newer, available with Windows 10 version 1511.
Plugin-free calling in Edge is the first step towards an interoperable, standards-based calling experience in Skype and Skype for Business, so that Skype users on any modern platform can communicate without the need for plugins or downloads.
You can read the full announcement and learn more about the new plugin-free Skype experience at the Skype Garage blog: New seamless Skype video calling on Microsoft Edge.

Thanks for the info Shawn
I already sent a link to the other TenForums Chat(aka video geeks) to here, as it is a good alternative if ones Skype for web plugin, universal app or desktop version is on the fritz. I would use the online IM and Call that's in the Office Online(little blue lemon icon on the top right) while fixing something.
I will be nice when you can do it in Google Chrome (which is my favorite browser)...they are working on it, but it will probably be a while yet for that...How do you use it on Edge? (just curious)...I do have the Skype app (which works pretty good) but i think it will be really neat to be able to do it directly from the browser...
