If I understand you correctly, you want to know if Win 10 has bugs and should you install it. I am not having any issues at the moment with build 10041 but some people are. The newer your system is the better chance you have of not having any serious problems in my opinion. If you are using your system for work and need a stable and dependable system then don't load it. Remember this is still in beta so load at your own risk.

Windows 10 build 10041 apparently does have some bugs, but none of them have cropped up in my installation. Everything seems to be running fast and smooth on my laptop. Build 10041 expires on October 1, 2015.
Windows 8.1? I consider it to be one gigantic bug. Windows 8 was even worse, in my experience.

As already mentioned, if you have a spare machine or don't need your machine for anything important and are happy to play with this preview then go for it otherwise wait for final release.
You can always have a play with it in a virtual machine if push comes to shove, if you need assistance with this just ask the question in the forum and many of us will be happy to help.

Don't switch yet, W 10 TP is still not for everybody as main OS. It's not that it has some bugs bad enough to make it not usable but who knows what else will happen to it until released as final. Also have to make sure you have all appropriate drivers and your SW is 100% compatible. There's many ways to "play" with W 10 without replacing your original windows if you want to. I think that's a good idea because at some time or another it's almost sure you will have to switch and by that time you will have better understanding of it.

Agree with Countmike.
I installed it separately with big plans of making it a day to day OS. But I had to switch back to 7 a lot.
If you have a separate machine or spare hard drive, install it separately. But if you just want to check it out, install it on Hyper-V or any virtual machine.

I had issues with it to start with -- hence that post I made -- now becoming a longish thread - windows 10041 nok back to 9926.

However MOST of the issues have either been fixed or a reasonable get around available. I do agree that the current start menu is unbelievably hideous, cumbersome and totally user unfriendly (probably user aggressive it should be called) and the automatic windows updates is also a nightmare - especially for device drivers.
Networking also seems a hit and miss affair but that's been an issue with Windows ever since the first "Networkable" version of Windows came out years ago --Windows 3.11 for workgroups so nothing new there.
It IS designed as a TEST system -- if people are using this as their "everyday" or working OS then they have only themselves to blame if programs they need to use daily don't work properly.
On the whole it IS useable --IMO I would rate build 9926 as better but it's all in testing so there will be a load more builds before RTM. Also it largely depends on what you are doing with the machine -- everybody has different hardware and applications.

certainly VM's are a great way to go but sometimes you need to test stuff using REAL hardware !!!!!. Fortunately I can do both. The driver issue doesn't arise with a VM if you are using VBOX or VMWARE since the Guest additions (VBOX) or VMware tools (VMware) virtualises the hardware to a large extent. That's why you need a REAL machine to check out some cases in "The Real world" too.
