    Windows 10 Professional

'ScanForCrap' completed successfully and found corrupt stuff but couldn't do anything about it.

Oh well, I'll probably perform a clean install every other day til RTM anyway!

You could try running this first using your ISO as source (if you have one)

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

sfc worked for me after that (tip taken from here... How to repair your system files using Dism and Sfc in build 10041 - Windows 10 Forums )

I've been trying this but every time I run it I get an error saying that source files could not be found. I have 10041 on disk and I can boot with it so I know it's good. I replaced the X with the drive letter too. Any ideas?

No problem on the previous build.
I went to my laptop's manufacturer (HP) and told it I had Windows 8.1 and downloaded (only) the audio driver for my lappy and saved it. Once I ran it, the driver installed as it should and now I have my sound back.

Same here. I have two computers with windows 10 build 10041 on them. Both terminate the SFC/ scannow command saying "Windows Resource Protection count not perform the requested operation. Both of these systems are dual boot systems, one with windows 8.1 and one with windows 7.

    Hi there

That isn't any good for my MOBO -- it won't install -- no hardware found --- not surprising since it's a VIA driver that's needed - but the VIA driver windows tries to install breaks the sound --Roll back to the Ms windows default one works fine --it's just I can't stop windows form automatically updating it again every time windows goes through it's automatically update. There should be an option to exclude specific updates -- on build 10041 there's no option - you have to take the lot regardless of whether they break your system or not.

    Cheers
