Microsoft, I regret to inform you that the only true start menu looks like...Attachment 74688

The full-screen abomination captured by the OP is an affront to God and man alike. Eh?...
    Nice update.

New is always good. But I stopped using start menu for my applications. I simply just put all the shortcuts I want in a folder. That's it.

I don't need a new start menu. The neat one I'm using now courtesy of Classic Shell is highly functional and exactly what I want.
@larc919. I like Classic Shell also, and use it on 10586 TH2 - current build. Unfortunately, it stopped working on RS1 - the Insider builds, and I have not seen anything to indicate Ivo is working to revive it. I hope he does.

Out of all the things MS could spend time and resources on they keep coming back to the freaking start menu. Unreal. Just give us lots of choice and be done with it.

Going back to a w8 look alike menu, ya, it worked so well for you last time.

I'm running the latest stable version (4.2.5) of Classic Shell on Insider Build 14316 with no problems at all.

Fear not, a new version is in the works. However I don't want to release anything until RS1 is out. Otherwise it will break again in a few weeks.

I haven't tried to install it on Insider for a couple months. I'll have to try again tomorrow. Wish I could see your xml of your settings. Thanks.

Don't know whether this makes any difference, but I've done only update installs since th2 insider builds started, no clean installs since the original. Anyway, here is a .zip file of my Classic Shell menu settings.xml for whatever help it might be.
