Actually I do need to ask a question on the ISO. Prob silly one but if I am in UK which English should I select English or English international? MS being a US company might class English uk as international

It has nothing to do with where you are residing.
The language you are supposed to select has to be the same language the computer has already been running.
If you computer is running English (United Sates ) then you choose that regardless of you are in UK.

If you click Eng UK and the "Set as default" greyed out, your default is Eng UK.

ok UK is the default that's greyed out, but what iso language does that mean to choose, English or English international? I'm sorry if questions seem daft but it's not clear. I am pondering a repair install and don't want to have a huge problem attempting it as I am desperate to maintain all my installed software. Cannot face a clean install and starting over!

Hmmm, in regedit default is 0809 UK, but it says installed language 0409 US above it. Sorry Still confused. What one is it? And when picking the iso language what does English represent and what does English international represent?

You go by what the System Default UI Language says.
    excerpt :
The system default UI language is the language of the localized version used to set up Windows. All menus, dialog boxes, error messages, and help files are represented in this language, except when the user selects a different language.

This tutorial will show you how to see what language Windows 10 was installed with.

    .................................................................................................... ...............................................

I have changed my Langauge and Speech to English (Canada) in order to have Cortana working in Canada.
However my Powershell still says my language is English (United States )

And if I were to download an iso file I would be choosing English (United States).

Ok cool, so I am English United States. But I still cannot decipher what ISO language to choose. In the drop down from that techbench link when selecting Product Langauge it doesn't list English (United States), I can only choose from either English or English International. So which of these relates to English United States? I presume just 'English' and not the international one?

    Sorry about all this.

On this site, people are somewhat more technical.
And, this also relates to mobo manufactures, hardware, and specific drivers, different bios and few other thingies that the teckies know about. However, I have yet to (since a 2nd reinstall of win 10 about 2 weeks after july 29, 2016) to experience anything with any ms updates but a couple of minor bugs that I have corrected .

For the newbies, take your time, do not install updates immediately on your pc, read about the update first if you can and then look to the pros on this forum to see what they have done to correct errors if any. JUST sayin. As far as I can tell this forum is full of professional pc users willing to share their knowledge where they can. Use it.
