Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316 Insider
-
I may have stumbled upon a way to keep that "How do you want to open this" pop up from appearing over and over again.
I've set it up and have been keeping a close eye on it, here's what you can try:
Set all your defaults in Control Panel, check them in Settings but confirm them in Control Panel; program and app defaults, file associations/protocols, same with link types.
I suspect it would help if you have less programs of the same protocol type installed, nevertheless, don't change anything after that!
Two things that will ruin it would be right clicking something and choosing "Open with", and, of course, installing a new program with similar protocols.
Didn't work.
I saw one user having problem with opening downloaded pictures with selected program, if it's not MS app. This could be MS is tightening security (hint Ransomware..)

You are not alone! Go to Feedback Hub or Feedback and upvote the numerous references to feedback unstable/dont work/unusable/flickers and so on
That was to be my next task, going to Feedback, but probably should have gone there first.
Amazed to see this problem started in 14291, though. Also amazed that this wasn't in "Known Issues". Pretty slack, really.

It is really interesting that so many persons received builds all at once after such a delay, at least to me.
Maybe Microsoft is reading here, Magilla. :)
-
I don't know for you, but it's not really big problem for me, since most messages are processed correctly. Simple analyze of received problematic message would probably do to identify what is going wrong. But will also check what Cliff is onto.
I have several of them; not just one.
Edit:
Have to ask: is your problematic mail also from Amazon?
I haven't gotten them from Amazon yet.
Edit 2
For me, only latest post from Amazon are problematic (last few days). And Wynona, why wasn't you able to capture the screen with snip?
I haven't paid that much attention to where they're from, but I don't more than one email from each one.

I would send feedback to MS, but the Feedback app crashes too often :)

Wot!! Both of them?

I meant the Feedback app.

I usually go to Settings>System>Default Apps>Web Browser and choose Firefox. Since you showed it a bit differently, I tried your way but I still get the same thing.
-
This comes dangerously close to the text book definition of solicitation!
And that's in the UI, not the web page, the UI!

There's more than one in your various flavours of Windows X surely - the old - Windows Feedback App, and the new - Feedback Hub (incorporating Insider Hub)
