One thing I did with an old component turntables years back was patch it through a cassette deck which then gave the signal a slight boost without a preamp. The amplication was then seen through the pc speakers!
Or use Microphone input instead of Line In, it's more sensitive and gain can be controlled better.

Has the Registry Editor crashing been fixed? Can anyone who was facing this issue check it out?

Glad that the sfc /scannow has been fixed.

    Thank you.

You are probably right but I just wonder why it can't be switched back on after the old restore points have been deleted.

Maybe if MS gets enough feedback they'll set it to delete the old restore points and still stay turned on. If they don't want to do that they could at least give us a notice that system restore is turned off so we won't forget to turn it back on. :)

That would be a good idea, but I'd say they need to leave the last restore point (prior to update) active or you wouldn't have a way to go back.

Well, maybe you could use windows.old?

It is an upgrade... ...a new version of the OS with perhaps some critical changes to the system that was running before.

Returning to a restore point could leave the system in a "Frankenstein" state - half one, half the other in some essential process.

If you need things back the way they were, you need to rollback, or reinstate them afresh in the new system.

The message is fairly clear - System Restore is turned off by Upgrades. You need to turn it on each time the build changes.

My understanding was, installing Windows, unaware of critical low disk space, enabling 'shadow copy' could bork the install.

Really? Logic doesn't tell me that at all.

In the past when we've installed service packs and they weren't to our liking, we could go back to a restore point and all would be good. Why is it different with Windows 10?

I resolved it. I turned off developer mode and switched to only apps from windows store and it worked for me.
