Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316 Insider
-
Some of email I subscribe to, including computer magazine newsletters and health related newsletters open without asking how I want to open them but others like Amazon, Walmart, staples ask how I want to open these. I use I.e as default browser and I think Wynona uses FF.
EDIT: PCWorld newsletters ask how I want to open, ZDNET and CNET do not ask how I want to open.
Yep, I just tried a link from a Walmart email and got it. I deleted a whole lot of emails before I started testing this, so Staples isn't there, but if you're getting it, I'm pretty sure I will too.
Since you're using IE and I'm using FF, it's a pretty foregone conclusion it's not our browser, but Build 14316.
As a test, is anyone using Edge and not getting this problem? Anyone using Chrome? The key seems to be that you need to click on a link from within an email . . . i.e. Walmart email advertising the Nextbook Flexx 8.9" 2-in-1 Tablet. Or Product Care Plans, etc.

I think it's Microsoft trying to force us to use Edge. Ain't gonna work fer me, Microsoft! :)
It's not going to happen here until and unless it is fully functional and accepts all extensions!! Then I might consider it

Well, it's gotta do faves flawlessly and easily before I'll even consider it. :)

Do they auto-open with Edge or do they ask what do you want to open this with?

In fact, Amazon.com is an email (10/6/15) that was sent to give me access to software I'd purchased , so I knowthat opened without issue! I get emails from DIY and HGTV daily, and have had no issues with them until Build 14316 dropped.

Dunno, Fafhrd, cuz I haven't made Edge my default browser, but I guess I should for testing purposes.
I still remember back when we were testing Vista and Windows 7, browsers other than IE wouldn't download the new bits half the time, if not all the time. At some point, though, other browsers started to work . . . can't remember when that started to happen, though.

...then they don't open with your default browser, or automatically in your email client?
( I haven't used an email client since webmail was invented, so I just don't know. I don't see ads most times because I use HostMan, which filters out the majority of advertisements at source (ad_source_URL>>10.0.0.0 loopback address))

Hey guys, can someone send me ISO of this build ? x64 Home EN . Coz I want to do clean install on VM. ty :)
Can somebody link me a download to the build 14316? I am not getting it for some reason waited more than a week ....
Simple solution is? Get the latest MC tool and download and save the ISO from the Tech Bench site. Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums
Once you have the clean install of 10 even with the Threshold 2 update you then simply enable the Get insider builds option and wait for the latest now the 143116 to show up following the initial updates that have to go on first. WD and Visual C+++ seem to be the two consistent items seen between each new build. Insider Builds - Start or Stop Receiving in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
Once you have the 14316 on the drive back the Sources sub folder upto a second drive or custom folder outside of the typical MS folders That will preserve the install.esd or install.wim file now the esd file for this build as well as allow the setup to run in the event you need a repair. The Tech Bench site if you are able to sign in there will have the 14295 build when using the MC tool there.

Try reverting to a previous build if you have a back up, I switched to 14291 from14295 and within a day I got the 14316.

That's only if you can still revert back a build or not?! If the Disk Cleanup tool was run promptly after seeing the previous build go on oops! I simply back up the Sources sub folder either found in the BT or WS folder depending on which has the setup files found intact and not simply seeing the Panther sub you can also start up manually to see a repair install of the present build with to correct any ubers?! Another little goodie from the MS TechNet site however is used to repair the Windows Update utility itself. Script Reset Windows Update Agent
