I've never understood why people like Chrome, but the trend towards Chrome has been apparent for several years.

On my PC, I used to use FF, but for the last few years I've been using Pale Moon.

Mozilla have just kept making (IMO) stupid changes to FF.
The Developer Tools are horrible these days (compared to a couple of years ago).
Now I dislike using it, unless it has had Classic Theme Restorer installed.

Occasionally I have to use IE, as a few sites can't cope with PM.
A free music site that I visit, doesn't work correctly in IE or PM, so I have to start a VM (or Linux Mint) and use FF for downloading.

That said, I use FF ESR on the TAFE PCs, as it is (IMO) still the best of a bad bunch (Chrome, Edge, FF & IE).
    U think anybody cares

Think this might only apply to European users, but what happened to the Browser Choice window that i thought MS had to show

Just got me thinking when i saw a comment about most not knowing how to install another browser, in the past the first time you launched IE, up popped a screen asking what browser you wanted

Not heard antything about this for a while and not seen it mentioned with 10? are MS now allowd to bundle what they want

One of the first things I do when I get a computer to repair is uninstall anything Google, especially Chrome. I have a strong dislike for all things Google, even though I use Google as my search engine because I can't find anything else as good, and yes, I've tried many different one.

I install or update Firefox then make it the default browser.

I use Seamonkey myself but it's a lot like Firefox and Firefox is my 2nd choice. IE 11 is also acceptable. Edge not at all.

This is just another of the preferential choices we make, like anti-virus or image editing software.
Since when is it a Techy choice what goes on his clients computer? Removing things from a clients computer (unless it is harmful) is not your choice.

I never heard of that feature before and I do suspect that would be a European feature only. Outside of Europe that feature doesn't exist so that's why that comment was being discussed. Here in the US I bet that the vast majority of casual users wouldn't know how to install a third party browser. I know that Erin wouldn't know where to begin.

Just popped into my mind about it, as i hadnt heard about it for ages
I agree that a lot woudnt know how to install another browser

Anyway, just been looking around and for info

Microsoft provided the Browser Choice update in accordance with a decision issued by the European Commission in December 2009. The obligations imposed by that decision have expired and as a result the Browser Choice Update will no longer be delivered to new users.
So looks like this has gone anyway

Browsers are a matter of preference. I bounce between IE11 and Chrome.

Here is the balance for me and work around since windows XP and Windows 7 right through to Windows 8.0 and Currently Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise

Internet Explore is gone for any or my use RIP never cared for IE

MS Edge has at least 3 years of work ahead of them to lay down the foundation and bring the standard of the new protocols to function and adopt to the new www protocol that will be geared for cloud and mobile transmissions and a lot more that I can share " no time at the moment "

Opera 2014 is the cream of the crop " get yourself a copy of the 2014 version and hang on tooth and nail to it " its the benchmark where all browsers should be built from and should be the bar of standards

Chrome is very good also but still needs a lot of work to function properly right across with every platform and device and most of all encryption currently Chrome is very weak around HTML applications, but over all Chrome will transform into a good tool and keep you save and have sound protection at the end of the day, as long as Google keeps throwing money at it

My every day browser is Opera 2014 and Chrome

My all time Favourite Browser was Netscape Communicator hands down till Mozilla acquired it
