Get rid of that side bar waste of space for Places and the singular recently installed entry, I'll be dandy.
On a similar note, I don't really like how live tiles update visually. It's a fade through effect and looks very dull. The old 8.1 style of sliding up and down catches your attention. In 10, I sometimes feel like tiles aren't updating.
The Start Menu, the way it's going, is a whole other 'animal' of a different breed.
The reason they started this 'Continuum' thing is so it would run as a separate UI, in and of itself, completely isolated from Explorer, on whatever device. There is too many things that go wrong when trying to hack around it with certain tweaks.
It's also the reason I don't third party menu applications are going 'play' nicely with or beside it.
I'm interested to see what changes MS makes in the next build. I'm happy with the Win 10 start menu now but changes are welcome.
I'm still using W7 for work and I'm pretty happy with the Start Menu there. I don't see any new features that I might use as I already don't use a lot of them. I certainly do not need live tiles there, I don't care for the start screen, and I certainly disagree with the statement that the Start Menu in W10 "is pretty decent" - I think it's awful.
Silly question, Why should they be built in? Why should Microsoft build something into the OS just because you want it. Why not let the third party people come up with some cool ideas to enhance the users experience. It really shouldn't be up to Microsoft to make everyone happy. . .well maybe me at least. . .:). . .then may be not. . .
