So far no problems with this build on my desktop.
So far no problems with this build on my desktop.
Apparently! Yet I still have the 14279 on one VM and the 14291 still running on the main without any snipping tool or SFC problems so far with this being the dual display build. The second desktop hasn't been running into any bugs there either. The only problem heard about is going from one build to the next and seeing the Windows Photo Viewer getting knocked out after you get it enabled on an earlier build. That's something for Edwin there.
The FastStone Image Viewer besides the annoyance of being bundled with the Free ISO Creator from another source will display images full screen, put on a slide show, edit/convert image files, and was well written for anyone looking for a good sub for WPV that is.
^^^^^All that would include ordinary use IMO outside of the hard core stuff like 3D design,Science Engineering stuff ,serious CAD CAM, hard core 3D or PC gaming in general and a real digital audio workstation etc. that it won't choke on or slow to a crawl with .
IOW That's why the workstation /PC gaming configuration here ( not this thing ) is a hyper threading SB i7
(8 threads etc. ) w/16 GB ram (so far) and the d/GPU requires every bit of a SB i7 for ultra game settings on certain games and the work we do with it here also to keep the latencies down .

Since you asked about ....( the workstation /PC gaming configuration here not this thing )...aside from hard core PC gaming it's a real THXpm3 digital audio workstation in the real studio here that produces digital music soundtracks ,beats ,tracks and albums for CD /mp3 mixes ,& downloads like iTunes etc , the streaming services like Spotify ,Tidal,Pandora ,etc ,music for Videos ,commercials and our digital catalogs ,( and hopefully some blockbuster movie work parts someday ) it layers in vocals from the artists over the beats and album tracks ,cut's and splices ,layers in sounds and effects and noise shaping aka digital word length reduction for mixdowns , does vocal advertizing overlays ,digital discrete time signal sampling aka digital recording ,audio encoding ,production mixing, post production media specific mixing aka CD and mp3 mix downs from the 24 bit safety masters for the productions and runs all the synths ,midi controllers synth keyboards ,drum machines ,audio production suites ,sound editors,VST sound and effect emulators and VST plugin libraries with maybe on average 100 tracks and or VSTs loaded when it's producing a beat or track in a DAW and or production suite and rocking 3 screens and a THX PM3 certified 850wpc mixing and mastering outboard digital to analog sound system and THX PM3 certified JBL pro studio loudspeakers ,nearfield monitors or the studio phones .
It Probably sweats a lots more than routine code monkey & programming business outside of Game dev, CGI or science/engineering
IOW it produces digital music and handles it all the way though the studio production workflow to media specific mixing and audio encoding that would choke lesser PC's and nobody in the music business or music software uses or recommends AMD CPU's for all that anyway. The standard is a SB Intel i7 or better ....... whereas the bedroom studio hobbyists might get by with something less but it won't fly with the pros.
IOW if you tried some of that with anthing below a SB i7 and 16 GB of ram you would likely be out of luck as it goes *these* days the latencies alone would kill your productions and workflow often it's not at all like just recording and mixing an act digital or otherwise .
That being said PC gaming wise it's decent@1080p ultra for most modern games but not nearly bleeding edge as game builds go and this AMD K10 rig is fine for casual use and ripping/ burning DVD's now and then if U aint in a hurry ......it takes about 7 minutes to strip the DVD HDCP out and about the same to shrink it to ~4.7 GB if you want a back up DVD . .
They used to do a lot of all that production work on IBM power PC workstations or Silicon Graphics type systems at the professional levels whereas*maybe your work* or some of it can probably be done on a Pentium P4 or core Duo or Core duo quad albeit maybe pretty slow by standards these days .
Maybe just look in task man at your CPU % and the other performance indicators to get an idea how your work flow and I/O throughput is going...... they have all that in our production software suites anyway along with latency indicators but I cant imagine that taxing a CPU like the production stuff that can bring down an Intel i3 or some AMD's to a crawl ......, L2 and L3 cache and CPU I/O throughput is important as are 4 real cores and HT not what AMD passes for 4 cores.
