Asus has done well with their lcds I know only too well. Having a mix up of HP and Asus lcds here the Asus smiles in vibrant colors while the larger 20" HP sadly lacks with more Contrast and less vibrance in the colors dept.! As for sound I have been using SB cards except for the remote portable note NZXT Vulcan model remote mini tower using the onboard sound there since the 9x days.

Didn't have anything on the old IBM museum piece there but saw the first sound on the 486 flat top later where I first looked at 98SE while running 95 with OSR2 however. That was when people were still buying the premade Epsons, Dells, Packard Bell, etc. That came about when first getting into the Windows only type pc gaming and looking up the best recommendations as well as Creative offering EAX being unique there.

u preaching to the choir here bro

Most the the Acers with S-IPS and VA LED/LCD panels are pretty decent and some of the CCFL lit panels were also

I have a real decent ~ 6 -8 mo. old Acer 27" 2560P LED /LCD screen on this one and 2 more decent 1680 x1050 24" Acer LED/LCD screens here on the other W10 desktops along with a 4 mo. old 55" 4K Sony XBR HDR TV & second screen on this PC and a 2013 1080P 40" Sony Bravia LED TV & screen no. 2 on one of the other PC's . along with 3 other 1080p TV's including a Samsung 64f8500 stonking good PDP TV and an SB i7 HP Elite book with the optional screen & discrete AMD graphics so I got lots of decent screens around here

I belive this Acer 27" is edge lit LED because it gets cooler to cold towards the top of the panel and Acer only specifies LED anyway & my edge lit 4K Sony HDR TV is the same way but it is much hotter on the bottom and can go significantly brighter than 300 NIT max on the Acer .

The 27"Acer can get decently bright and still have good color saturation ,contrast and .016 reference black indexing without clipping whites ,colors or W/W it was a snap to calibrate out of the box much easier than the TV's here but the 4K Sony wasn't bad at all and not far off reference bt709 calibration but its tweaked by me for bt2020 and DCI P3 wide color gamuts & WCG color re mapping anyway and looks way better than a bt709 TV even on regular 4:2:0 8 bit TV & Blue Ray.

regular 8 bit bt709 LCD & LED TV's & 8 bit PC screens outside the new HDR WCG TV sets and *maybe * 10 bit PC screens cant make good or close to real R,G,Y primary's and if you don't squash the blues everything else gets skewed thats a limitation of conventional LCD panels & back-lighting and the nano-crystal & Sony Triluminous panels afford the wider color gamuts on HDR TV's like you get in a theater and wont see on an SDR TV or PC screens a verry big improvement more than 4K even if you re map regular 4:2:0 TV /Blue Ray content a wider color gamut and higher color volume like you can do with a decent HDR TV without blowing it all up.

Obviously at .016 reference black indexing its a VA panel in the 27" Acer no S-IPS edge lit panel or any of them will come close to that but they make nice color & good detail also and better view angles some folks like them better on high end professional monitors and Sony's using them again in most of of the 2016 XBR 4K HDR TV sets but the equivalent 2015 Sony XBR 4K HDR TV like mine with VA panels all got significantly better reviews and test results so no buyers remorse here but I figured thats how it was coming down anyway I had some insider info and good speculation when I bought this one .

That's all nice(usher) but the largest lcds I can put into a dual display set up for the main build here is a pair of 20" while the Asus gaming model lcd is a 19". That has something to do with desk space I(do) believe being a little bit limited due to the cabinet section taking up about half of the overall width where the video gear as well as printer, router, and even one of the cable boxes for watching news and other things while at the desk are kind of arranged according to space.

I even remember running Ami Pro (word processor). In fact, while I was working at Lyondel, I moved all the computers in the Coker Unit to Windows before the IT Department changed any others over.
Nah, never liked WP, but it was very popular that's true. Chi Writer here. Still have a backup of some older stuff :).

I have the room here for the TV & PC & 5.1- 27"& 55"screens & wide bookcase and office PC desk without being crowded .

The TV ofc is on an articulating wall mount next to the office/PC desk with the bottom the TV centered about a foot above the wide bookcase next to the desk which is maybe 6" higher than the desk so I can point the TV here or straight back when I'm not at the desk and pull it straight out so it looks like it's floating in space at night when I watch it with the 65K ambient back lights on or off.

This house doesn't have a small room or bed room in it like my 1970's tract home on a 9500 sq foot lot that I remodeled did but this one is on an acre anyway with a smaller 2 carpeted habitable room room + garage /workshop & storage structure out back not far from the hose with paving stones, lawn and landscaping in between and the majority of the property behind it .

The downside here is an 85"TV would feel right at home out front maybe even something bigger and the 64" Sammy 64f8500 doesn't look all that big at all out there and I watch this one more anyway . The other rooms ,studio and out back all have 40-42" TV's

I could have pulled this off in the master bed room in the other hose anyway the TV wall mount is very helpful and not having the PC in a cabinet thing ....I've done that before in a nice PC cabinet or two when A 19" LCD PC monitor or smaller CRT was usual but it's maybe too confining now (*to me) even with a 19"screen but all that was a decent arrangement back then and it looked fine I liked it then and might even like it now if I wasn't spoiled by all these bigger screens

I still have 19" View Sonic TFT LCD PC monitor from 2004 that works like a champ for screen 3 for a VST analog outboard studio gear emulator or something in the studio it wasn't cheap back then either

I went with my BF to buy his $3500.00 phat Sony SXRD HDTV bulb lit slim proj panel in 2005 and move it in my truck now you can get a probably half way or better decent 1080p 50"Toshiba 1080p for $399.00 .

They are probably Compal sets and they own Toshiba TV brand now anyway but they been making Toshiba for years anyway and some of those were pretty good and equal to the Samsung or splitting hairs nearly so in 2011,2012,& maybe even 2013 and they used a lot of Samsung panels back then.

I have a 2012 40" CCFL Toshiba out back like that from best buy that was in here before the two Sony's it's not bad at all and can make 450 NITS and vivid color but not quite Sony color and shadow detail but almost decent and it liked to push red but it was enough cheaper than my 2013 40" Sony to figure all that anyway and that one liked to push blue but this one is close to perfect as I've seen on an LCD and it has a wide color gamut and 4K HDR and a stunning picture on decent content even clean 1080p TV it's way on an another level altogether but it's an XBR not a Bravia big difference and bigger price , the XBR tax will always get you a much better Sony and build quality I've done that before but Bravia's ain't bad for what they are and they usually last real well and have decent boards in them .

On the mobile version of 14295, is anyone else having an issue using the video recorder (on camera app)?

I do have an android phone (HTC One X). But I am just using it now as a network controller for Kodi, Wemo Switch, Raspberry Pi, Sony RX100M2 camera, etc.

Here's one of my favorite thing to do with my android.. a remote control for my RX100M2 camera..

Still on Windows 10 Mobile, I was able to get past through the video camera error. I noticed that the digital video stabilizer was enabled by default. But what it does is the exact opposite. It adds more shake to the video instead of eliminating it. I disabled it and everything was fine.

Not a biggie because I have other cameras. Just pointing out some issues. I already sent a feedback.

Here's a sample of a video with video stabilization on.
    Btw, YMMV. :)
