Right ...Now that you mention it on some more recent Insider build update installs that weren't straight from WU with no install media ISO I had to uncheck the "check for updates" tick box in the Windows installer set up otherwise that would all stall at 25% and stay there like it would do straight up from WU . So thats my thing now when using install media outside WU > install which doesn't allow that option .
I always copy the Windows Installer ESD from the $Windows ~ BT sources folder before any restart after the WU new build download in case I need to convert it to an ISO and mount it or burn it and I copy it to another HDD or NTFS primary partition also just in case .
If he doesn't already have a clean ISO or the ESD download sourced out of the WU download $Windows~ BT sources folder ........Maybe the OP can delete the contents of his $Windows~BT folder on his c : drive & get another WU 14295 download that way and copy the ESD 14295 installer from the sources folder in there ( before or instead of initiating a restart which removes that option ) and decrypt it to an ISO & Mount an ISO for an update install or burn a DVD/USB which all will give him the opportunity to un check the update part of the install during the Installer setup and maybe bypass any driver conflicts and also the custom (cleasn install) options .
OTOH if he's done all this already it's back to the drawing board or maybe Google .
FWIW IMO ( also a popularly shared opinion in the Windows Insider forum )...... most of the MS MPV people and MS engineers at the M.S. Windows insider forums are clueless but some of the members outside that are fine . I never pay attention to anybody connected to MS or especially MS MVP there anymore

FWIW outside of random occasional momentary hangs and freezing and in the web browsers and the windows 10 e mail client runtime app & others along with sudden closing in any of the apps including the mail client 14295 is working as well as any other test build in recent memory and better than the last 3 here
Maybe they will start breaking out some advanced Redstone build new features pretty soon OTOH some stability fixes would be nice also .
Decided to give this build another shot since it hit the slow ring. Anyone got a way to turn off the annoying "User Account Control is turned off" notification after every boot?
Had to roll back again, but I think I've figured out what's causing the dwm.exe crashes in this build. It seems to happen whenever a game controller is plugged in to the PC after the PC has been completely shutdown. I thought I'd found a workaround for the issue that involved turning Fast Boot off, but that didn't work. Went ahead and submitted feedback through the Feedback Hub and rolled back to 14279.
I just found one of the VMs here still had the 14279 in use. The others had all been seeing the 14291 until this one arrived. And the only bug to report so far is right clicking on the desktop or minimizing a window and no wav file assigned being heard being the unusual event for 10 lately! No longer being able to assign one for the Windows logon or logoff is where MS had made a change in the Sounds option tab.
As for the UAC once I get past the initial prompts as far as the view tab in the folder option to uncheck the hide all and restore last session as well as displaying the full path that gets the axe to NaDa and generally never sees any issue after the initial prompt when turning it all the way off. And as for a quick option to save on build if the next flops on you one item of interest is the BT\Sources\Windows folder you can simply backup and restore if the next build doesn't pan out for you. The setup.exe file will still replace the TH2 update you can see put on fresh as the immediate alternate which can also then see the direct upgrade to the latest. Just used that option on a new VM lately to speed things up a bit. Direct upgrade from TH2 to ... with one click!

Nitehawk ,
Right on copying /fetching the Windows installer ESD out the $WINDOWS.~BT folder.>sources folder but that all has to be done before a restart from the WU restart/install new windows version prompt
........no big deal I always copy the install ESD like that anyway
Anybody ,
OTOH I can't figure out why anyone would want UAC [off] unless they were experimenting with or taunting the PC devils or something
