Been getting this on all my devices with Edge. It also affects G+. I lose the top right buttons, which is especially annoying as the notification button is gone so can't click to see updates on posts. Chrome - fine.

I do wonder if Google are trying to degrade it for touch given that Chrome is horrible for touch. I like Chrome but, but Edge is so much smoother on touch scroll. Chrome is a struggle to use with touch on a low performance device such as an Atom based tablet (yet oddly works better with mouse but I don't carry a mouse around with me usually).

Hello guys, I'm new here but I've often read the forums!

Looks like that the black bar is back from today, at least for me and only with Edge...Did anyone have the same problem? How did you solve it? :\

Yup, can confirm. Looking at it now, I actually kind of miss it.

    Hi there

For people like me who HATE modern UI types of applications -- I hate tabbed browsing, prefer Menus and like re-sizeable windows I actually like the old Google search look.

As I do most of my browsing on Linux with Firefox I can't really say that this bothers me in the slightest. FF allows Menus - AND tabbed browsing if that's what you like.

I only use IE 11 if I'm using SKY GO otherwise I tend to use windows in a VM anyway. Basically email / Office and a few corporate logons (SAP Gui for example) are the only main reason I'm still using Windows these days. There's still NO contest between Ms Office and the rest -- Outlook IMO also is still nr 1 email client too so I still have a use for Windows - although less these days than I used to while the rest of the Office suite can't be beaten - especially EXCEL with good Internet queries etc etc.

I have also a few legacy apps running on an XP VM and a W7 VM for test purposes - otherwise I'm probably on Linux 80 % of the time now - especially as all my multi-media servers run on the NAS (PLEX, SQUEEZEBOXSERVER, MPD - Music player Daemon) and my backups etc are stored there. I can access the VM's also stored on the NAS via mobile phone or a laptop whether running Windows or Linux.

However in things like appearance etc it's all a matter of preference -- what I would like to say --PLEASE DEVELOPERS - get away from fixed pixel sizes in your developments - sometimes when using a large proper 4K Ultra HD monitor the texts are far TOO TINY and there's almost nothing that can be done to change them. Some apps might change title bar text size etc but you still get TINY text in say a command bar etc. Shouldn't be too hard to program less sloppily assuming everybody has eagle quality vision and small monitors !!!!

    Cheers

Not to criticize your tastes, but what is it that you hate about tabbed browsing?
