FWIW I Just changed my default browser from Chrome x64 to Firefox in 14279 Google Chrome x64 hangs and or just becomes unresponsive frequently it may be the latest Chrome update or this test build or both but it was happening before the latest Chrome update . Chrome x86 might work better that's the way it always was before in Windows 10 and IIRC windows 7 x64 also .

OTOH Firefox is a real decent browser anyway so it will be interesting to see if it's more stable than Chrome x64 in Windows 10 stay tuned .
I'm using Firefox's latest updates and having the freeze-ups. However, this last time I wasn't using Firefox, but I was using the latest update to Office 365.

I've been using FF since it was Netscape (my first browser) and can't even imagine using Chrome. Watch out for add-ons in FF x64, if they are not made for x64 they appear to install but don't work.

Netscape was my first real web browser also . Thanks for the heads up ....I'm not planning on any add-on's for F.F. beyond maybe an ad blocker and *maybe * a flash plug in straight from Adobe we'll see how it goes so far F.F. is working well .

I've been using Chrome for a default browser since early on but Firefox is real decent and I've always had it on my PC's also . I'm not adverse at all to using Firefox for default browsing especially if it works better than what Chrome x64 has been showing me in 14279 rs1 and some other Insider builds lately and generally I have always liked F/F well enough anyway .:)

Yikes ! I just now updated to Firefox 45 but I still have the F.F. 43 set up .exe stub if I need it. I usually keep a prior set up version for some things if I need to roll an update back even windows insider ESD to ISO files for maybe one or two prior test builds.

PS so far in the last ~ 30 min. F.F has been behaving better in 10249 than Chrome x64

FF 45 working fine here (on 14279). Some crashes with Edge, Office 2016 etc. But not FF this time.

Good to know ,F.F. 45 is good here so far also. Edge always been unstable , I'm not using MS office 2016 or 365 . I don't get MS Office free anymore since I retired .

The latest Libre Office 5.1.x works pretty well ,it's free and is compatible with MS products but it's not as polished the latest Office products but being retired it's fine for my simpler needs now .:)

OK, I still have some licenses for Office 2016, but on Windows Insider I'm having a free ride . Never left the Technical preview, and now I have test version of latest build. The grace period renews with every new Windows build.

On the other side, I could live with Libre 5.1, if I have to.

I have FF 45, O365 2016 6741.2015 ProPlus and Build 14279. I'm still getting freeze-ups; in fact, I just got another one while trying to respond to this post. Sigh . . . Both FF and Outlook were running on Build 14279.

If I used Office program's more these I might have tried the Windows Insider Office test builds I'm sure the latest Office products are much more polished than Libra Office and If I had to depend on something for a livelihood it would probably be MS office
